Whats up, folks? This is the time of year where I'd normally come on and post about the Player Pool coming up since The Big Dance will be starting soon. However, after checking last year's post and having the debacle that went down be refreshed in my memory, I'm not so sure if I want to deal with all that again.

So, this is a lightweight interest/ideas post. Post up if you're still interested, and also post up if you have any ideas on what we can do this year to make sure what happened last year doesnt happen again. Also, reply with any rules changes you'd like to see so we can put them up for a vote. If its not too crazy and the interest is still there, I'll probably go ahead and run this again.

So like after the draft until say 2 hours before tip off the first game you can add and drop people

i still blame hip-hop.

It can be a short period, it's really just to take care of any situation like the Fab situation.

Other than your round 7 rushed pick, I don't think there will be a ton of free agency moves outside of stuff like injuries or suspensions.

for mistake picks, without any future subjectivity needed.

okay, you made a shit pick in the 2nd round. drop him and do your best in the free agent pool.

since we don't count the first 4 games it's not THAT big of deal, but i like the idea of ending the period prior to those games.

last year in another player pool draft that ended after the first four, i picked up anthony collins for south florida, and it made a difference.

I think you should be able to reply to your pick to edit it, until the following participant picks, at which time you forfeit your pick until the free agency period.

Ok...on that spelling thing. What about nicknames (Scoonie, TJ, PJ, Scoop, etc)? I think if we are gonna be damn teachers, then we should have a standard selection format. Gov't name (no nicknames).

OK, so I still haven't heard from The Real, so I've sent rob an inbox offering him a spot since he was the first one to reply in this post about joining the pool. If he declines, I'm offering the spot to Warren Coolidge.

Here are the results of the vote proposals, if you didn't vote, don't complain. If you didnt answer a simple yay or nay, I tried to interpret it as best as possible. If I couldnt interpret it, I didnt count it. If you voted either way, I counted a vote each for YAY and NAY.

DRAFT RULES
1. The draft will go six (6) rounds in a snake order.

2. Please post your pick as a reply to the post for each round, not as a reply to the person who picked in front of you.

3. When making your pick, please post the player’s name and school in the reply. Unless the player has a nickname that he goes by that differs from his government name, please use the name that the player is listed by in his school’s box scores. If in doubt as to who how to post his name, please use CBSSports.com ‘s player listings, http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/players.

4. FAB MELO RULE: If you pick a player who is later declared ineligible/suspended/injured, you can pick a player to replace him at the end of the draft but before the tourney starts on Thursday. The ineligibility/suspension/injury has to happen between today March 17th and Thursday when the tournament kicks off. No picking a guy who’s already injured, hope he gets to play, and replacing him when you find out he isn’t.

5. THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT!!! NO EDITS to picks once made. Any changes to the pick, either for misspellings or to make a replacement pick because the player you picked was already taken need to be made as a reply to the original pick post. This will be done to leave an audit trail of the pick history and to ensure there are no shenanigans.

The draft will be untimed until tomorrow at 11am EST. After that, each person will have 30 minutes to make their pick. No pick made in time, that person will be skipped and will have to make up their pick as soon as they can. The timer will go off at 5pm EST each day.

Ceej will serve as draft master in my absence. Please let him know the best way for him to contact you to let you know you're up to pick. This thing always works best if everyone is as available as possible to get the draft done quickly, as you all know by now.

Once the draft is finished, the free-for-all ROUND SEVEN post will go up sometime this Wednesday. Remember, all ROUND SEVEN picks have to play for teams seeded 10th to 16th. Picks are first come, first served. In the event of a tie, OKP time stamp will break the tie. If both posts have the same time stamp, the person whose post posted to the board first will break that tie.

I put the teams in the draft randomizer in the same order as the draft last year, then ran it 10 times in a row, this was the result. I'd be down with setting the order next year in reverse order of this year's standings.....
