With his good guard and those long legs of his, I don't know if GSP wants to spend 25 minutes trying to out-Fitch Diaz. Memories of him having problems finishing Dan Hardy makes me think GSP's going to keep this standing in probably boring fashion.

A submission on Diaz would be pretty exciting. I hope GSP doesn't go the route and try to win on points for 25 minutes. Are you saying Diaz's guard means nothing to you in general or in comparison to GSP's skills?

In comparison to gsp. Gsp has only gotten better at bjj over the years and with his already dominant control game i just dont see diaz being able to pull anything off. Gsp did looked more aggressive to me in the condit fight so i'm hoping he stops diaz. I'd be excited if diaz wins too, i just dont think he can.

he is good at scrambles. Creating scrambles and catching people in transition. He has been beat by lesser wrestlers with lesser cardio before (Karo Parisyan and Diego Sanchez) Nick is also his worst enemy. He is like Rampage, where you know how he will fight you. His game plan is always the same. When he faces better athletes he loses (Condit) Nate is the same but seems a little less hard headed. He still has a chance to make adjustments and become someone. Nick is forever a gate keeper.

...probably, and here is the thing...why don't he and his brother work on defending against wrestlers? Why don't they adjust? To me is shows their lack of intelligence, and unwillingness to grow...they are not evolving, so they both will always be good, tough fighters, but won't beat the best....simply dumb, imo...

After a year off, I have a hard time believing he's going to stick with the same old, same old. His typical boxing strategy won't be enough, and he has to know that. I mean, it didn't work against Condit, and GSP made Condit look silly. Why would he think it would work against GSP?
I would like to see GSP go all out for a finish. We haven't seen that for a while from him, and frankly his fights have gotten much less interesting.

see the Carlos Condit fight. That is Diaz's style take it or leave it. He will always fight that way. When he loses he will call the opponent a pussy for not brawling with him. I'm glad Nate isn't as stubborn as him. He seems to have learned from his brothers mistakes. So much talent in that family. It would be a shame if both of them never reach their full potential.

What gets me about Nick Diaz is he is a bit of an ass, but his endurance is awesome! He swam to and from Alcatraz twice and he was on the speed bag for 23 minutes?!
I still think GSP is goi g to kick his ass though. Dude is really pissed. Which is deep because he's usually so composed.

Nicks landed in the end of the third round, GSP was able to avoid the typical volume of Nick Diaz punches because he was able to dart in and out with his jab.

he never put together a string of punches. The only time he tried to Diaz landed. He used his jab to keep Diaz from closing the distance and to disguise his shots.

Didn't your cuz fight? 4oz gloves mean strong lunging jabs like gsp's can be powerful shots. I get that as a fan you wanted to see more exciting exchanges, but don't belittle what they did in the cage last night. That wasn't one of the many action less fghits we've seen in the ufc recently, that was domination in all aspects by a superior martial artist. Georges traded with Nick more than probably anyone expected him to, it's simply incorrect to say Nick was merely blanketed.

Johny has so much heart, man. And I'm still not convinced Georges can take a hard shot. Johny Hendricks' wrestling is probably good enough to negate Georges'. Hell, Nick Diaz even started stopping St-Pierre's takedowns this last fight. I also think Johny is strong enough that Georges won't be able to bully him like he does most all the other welterweights.
Georges seems like he just ain't on the level he used to be - cardio, heart, and finishing fights.

will be death against GSP. Georges leg kicks plus the aforementioned lunging jab will give Johnny fits. I did see holes in George's clinch game vs Diaz in the later rounds, but he was admittedly tired out. Johnny intiates takedowns from close quarters and Georges is way to smart to get caught in tight vs a shorter power puncher.
