"Steven Rashad Jackson is FREE!!"

Not mad at all. Dude played the prime years of his career on some AWFUL football teams. In his 9 seasons there, he's had 4 head coaches and the team has endured a 1-15 year, a couple of 2-14s and a 3-13. He never complained about the losing...just played his ass off. He's always in top shape, does whatever he is asked and sets an example with his work ethic. Obviously, the Rams can still sign him, but I'm super curious to see if any teams would be interested in a 30 year old power-back who can run, catch and pass protect. He doesn't have to be the man at this point. He's established. In the 10k yard club, 8 straight 1k yard seasons and universally respected among players. I think he just wants to win. Good luck, Steve.

get rid of Felix ass. DeMarco and Sjax in the backfield....shiiiiit. Also, Denver would be scary with him running out of that back field. No diss to McGahee, but...

That o-line will have him on the line with his financial planner and doesn't really satisfy the 'wants to win' corrolary any more than staying in STL would.

played behind that vaunted Ram's O-line. The one that had Bradford on pace to break David Carr's record for getting sacked. The one that damn near turned Marc Bulger into a vegetable. Cook on, though.

still in his absolute prime when he got there (Denver still won on the trade but he did his thing).

I was thinking more in the TJ Duckett, Shaun Alexander, Larry Johnson mold since he'll be a 30-year-old back with 2200+ carries when he gets into a camp.

Only problem with him was that he was run into
the ground in a power running system that didn't
really fit his physique

it's a testament to him that he was still able to succeed in a system not really ideal for his stature and skill set.

Forte isn't aggressive enough for me, but it could be he hasn't been used correctly...

I remember thinking that the top two RBs in that class were Jackson out of OSU and Kevin Jones out of VT. I was actually glad the Lions got Jones, and thought he would have the better career. Turns out, I had no idea what I was talking about, at all.

Jackson always ran hard as shit, and even when the Rams were terrible you had to come and play or else he'd run embarrass you. He's one player I wouldn't begrudge for ring-chasing in FA.

there are teams out there who could use him and the chance to compete for a conference title with those teams may be too much to turn away from....

He's been a G for the Rams though...haven't always been the biggest fan of his running style though...he jump cuts before he hits the holes instead of planting and driving through the holes...that's why he often gets tripped up by defenders pretty easy....

but he's been solid for the Rams...

Rams are actually in a win win with this.... If Jax returns restructured you go into a year with him having a slightly reduced role as you get Darryl Richardson more touches....

if he leaves..you have 2 first round picks ...one you could spend on a RB like Lacy...the other you could still strengthen your O-line......a Lacy / Richardson tandem moving forward would be something the Rams could really roll with...

or there are some decent RBs that will be on the free agent market...you could easily find one to compliment Richardson at a decent price tag.

of course I don't watch a lot of StL Rams games

but

the few I did see

either he didn't play, due to injury

or didn't finish the game, due to injury

at 30 Y.O.

I don't think I'd buy him as a featured back on Chip caliber team
