and his game still baffles me. Someone on here described him as "making everything look harder than it is." That's a pretty good description. On the other hand, he's not bad at anything really. Or at least he wasn't until very recently. He's sorta quietly had one of the best all-around games in the league for a long time, but if you just looked at him you would never tell. I know he's athletic because you have to be at that level, but he's never looked it.

while he has gotten his shine since the Big 3 formed, it's still unfortunate his prime was wasted with such mediocrity around him.

His mechanics are really unorthodox, so even when he makes a great play it just looks awkward. But his numbers are undeniable and he's one of the most clutch players of his generation.

since like Barkley he was a undersized forward who managed to shoot around 50% from the field while raking in mad scoring numbers.

Ginobli? The one with one of the craftiest
handles and get-to-the-cup games of anyone
in the last decade?

He's like Hornacek? How?

he was always around the rim somehow and had a nice drive to the bucket.

he wasn't just hanging around the perimeter shooting jumpers, dude was all over the court

Ginobili has better handle and could dunk, but he reminds me of that pesky ass dude who fuck around score and everyone looking around like "who had him?"

>Ginobili has better handle and could dunk, but he reminds me
>of that pesky ass dude who fuck around score and everyone
>looking around like "who had him?"

Manu Ginobli is a slasher supreme who has developed a
long range game, but the long range game evolved secondary
to the slashing

Hornacek, like many good jumpshooters, was the opposite

Just stop it.

Kobe is a waaay better athlete than he lets on

He still gets tons of elevation on his jumpers

And when he cares about D he can move laterally
with just about everyone. I mean, he sorta embarrassed
Lebron multiple times on Sunday

I think Kobe lets the ducktale survive because it
makes him seem more Jordan-like with the "hard work"
and "being studious"

Kobe is a supremely GIFTED athlete, still is

Kobe had minimal lift three years ago because he had no cartilage in his right knew..after the platelet therapy in Germany, his lift and movement (as you commented on) have been very good. He shows it consistently on his jumper (like you said) and elevates to the rim when he wants to (I mean dude threw down a nasty dunk on Gerald Wallace and Humphries a couple weeks ago).

Flustered, Patrick then asked Love "Well, who is the toughest player to deal with?"

Love quickly responded; "Tim Duncan".

Love then told a story about how Duncan had hit a bank shot over him. As Love was running down the court, he muttered to himself "What am I going to do about that?".

Duncan overheard Love and said; "There's nothing you can do about that, son."

Patrick seemed floored after this. Imagine that. A player with 4 rings, 3 Finals MVPs, 2 MVPs, and 9 1st team, All-NBAs as good as two players with a combined 3 rings, 0 Finals MVPs, 1 MVPs, and 8 1st-team, All-NBAs.

Imagine that?

And Kobe has even been in the NBA longer than Duncan.

A little later, a still flustered Patrick was shocked to hear that the Pro Bowl got higher ratings than the Kobe-Lebron love fest.

Shocking, indeed.

WHAT'S GOOD *****? What's REALLY good?!?!????!!! Ha HA!

james worthy and his Millennium son James Harden

J and J

Also, Cousins has a nice old man's game

Durant's game is very old school as well ...the way that he can extend to the basket and draw fouls

back in the day, before scottie redefined the position, the 3 spot gave birth to some of the greatest players who had an old man's skillset:

Aguirre
Dantley
King
Worthy..

so pippen was a blessing and a curse.

Ain't no young point guards coming into the league scoring off post ups and tear drops, which was practically the only way Mark scored since he was slow and couldn't really shoot.

I'm fairly certain, in an empty gym, even someone like Andre Miller or a midget like Ty Lawson could throw one down.

they're old, past their prime, but they don't have "old man game."

andre miller, he has old man game. old people don't dunk. stop being so okayplayery and talk about sports! if kobe/pierce/duncan have "old man game" what style does "the marine" or the average OKP play?

O_E you commented on Nash's dribbling in circles as NOT old man game...but dunking is?

using the 90% mental instead of the 10% physical...got it

me setting a screen for a youngsta so he can hit an open j off a curl instead of forcing it and driving to the cup myself assuming my athleticism (or lack there of) will get my team a bucket...got it

yes his game has slowed and yes he takes lay-ups over dunks when the key is crowded (which is a sign of "old man game" yes)

maybe it's because i've been playing a lot of pick up since the summer and i've seen different styles of play while on the court...

yes, he plays "old man game" in today's NBA, which is run by freak athletes.

PS. Joe Johnson made Pierce look VERY old tho lol
