I'd give him the edge over Lebron. He gets the ball in to you right in your hands in the best ways. Some shit where I can't even imagine or don't see while watching the game.

The length of his arms and size of his hands let this dude have such an advantage when passing the ball because A) he can pass at any angle B) the length of the pass is shorter (akin to a tall pitcher).

Tack on the strength to make seemingly difficult passes look routine, and he's probably top ten all time.

Bron's rotations to close out shooters are great, he gives you weakside blocks and great post doubles. He plays the passing lanes smartly, not like Wade who be out there gambling wrong. He's a beast.

Keep Speights and sign him to that 5/35 you know he bout to get from somebody or trade to get another #1 pick?

If the comitted to Dion as starter…Otto or B-mac?

If they open to Dion as 6th man…B-Mac?

Nerlens at #1? I’d be okay with that.

work bruh. I've been lurking though. I'd prefer to keep Speights because big men with that 17-8 potential don't come around often and he's a good counter-point for the nights where Tristan can't bamma his way to 15-10. That way Tristan can focus on D and let the big man scoring come elsewhere.

In my ideal world we get Nerlens at 1 and immediately shut the paint down on niggas. Tristan has that good Tyson Chandler ability to play position D. He needs the smarts and experience though.

I'm higher on Dion than you but I laugh whenever he starts dribbling hard and looking pressed to get his. My wife made me explain what the "philly rock" was.

B-Mac could work because he doesnt create. His handle is weak and straightline as hell. Funny enough, he reminds me of Brad Beal if all that bullshit about Beal's jumper was true. I don't see them pushing Dion down to 6th man though. Grant would probably go for Otto and fill that 3 position with someone who can spot up and score efficient off cuts. Porter is going to have a good Deng-like impact in the league.

BTW, I love your podcast fam. I listen to those hoop segments and talk back to the pod like an old nigga listening to sports radio.

i'm coming around on nerlens, but i would like some offense...just more scoring options.

tristan need to spend all summer working on his 15 footer...just a semi-circle around the damn basket...move/catch/shoot. baselines, wings, FT line. that one-stride floater is BS

Same here man. I respect how you come with opinions that make some damn sense. Even when it's on some madmaking, there's a logical thread. I remember doing bs radio in j-school so I know how hard it is to fill time and be good and insightful so I respect y'all that much more on the 'cast. You might have to get me on there one of these times ha.

Tristan's floater is a good first move. I hate that he went to Texas because that year was such a waste in development. Imagine if Self or JT3 had him for a year. He'd have a couple pet moves already. The free throw stroke is better now, even tho it looks like he's chucking it at 60mph. That gives me hope for his jumper but it's going to take awhile. Plus he's pressed for offensive boards.

Nerlens doesnt have anyone getting him the ball now. Harrow has vision but he's dumb and not strong with the ball and Goodwin might as well be wearing a bridle like those horses on luck. Straight-line ass dude. He's got a decent right hand hook and he's not bad with the faceup/jabstep/drive move. I bet he puts up more ppg as a rookie than he puts up now at UK. For all Dion's faults, he'll hit that "get my assist" dumpoff pass and that fits with Nerlens crashing from the weakside.

What you think about Alex Len? That dude seems quite mediocre but Chad Ford is on cyse alert with him. I don't see him as anything better than Kostas Koufous (who is a solid starting 10-8 big, but still)

I don't really fully feel the Koufos comparison, as Len actually hits the boards harder than Koufos did or does in the few games I've seen him... but at 1-5, you want a game changer. I don't see him as a game changer, I see him as a totally solid and respectable piece, even a possible starter... but I'm not convinced after only seeing one year of Len with this added weight that he's an All-Star.

Noel simply changes the other team's plans by standing there on D. That alone is a massive accomplishment. And I wondered at first "is this just college," but really he changes the game on D more than Anthony Davis did, which tells you just what type of impact he could still have at a pro level.

Kostas gets 6.5 a game..in 20 minutes. While spending a lot of his time chasing the 4s that Faried can't cover and setting picks away from the basket on offense. His rebound rate is down this year but it was at 19% last year. Thats an above average big man rate. I dont see Len getting those 50-50 boards and hitting the offensive glass that signifies that bamma rebounding gene but I may have missed it. With a weight program and some defensive teaching, Tyler Zeller is 90% of what Len is in my eyes.

I'm with you on Noel. His quickness and timing is what's shocking. It's on Ibaka levels but with smarter usage of his tools.

Len wasn't nearly as impressive last year, cuz his body was closer to Zeller's. This year, he's put on 25-30 pounds... quality pounds too. His offensive rebounding percentage is better than any other rebounder in the draft, including Noel, Zeller, Plumlee, Bennett, and WCS. Considering this is his first year playing as a bulky big man rather than as a quasi-finesse big man, I'd absolutely take that as a huge sign of potential bammaness-- and at his size, that's money in the bank.

I didn't mean to hate on Koufos' pro career... but if you compare what Len is doing this year to what Koufos did at OSU... well, there's not much of a comparison. Koufos was raw talent not quite living up to potential, whereas Len is showing and proving. I think Len wears his bulk in a beefier way than Koufos. I'd say Len's ceiling is higher-- more aggressive at a younger age. (I realize it's his second year, but he's playing so differently than last year due to his new body that I basically consider it his first year, cop out as that may be.)

Edit: I also don't think he'll be a 30+ minute guy in Denver ever. Just doesn't seem to be what they wanna do. He needs a trade if he's gonna hit that double double potential imo.

>I'm with you on Noel. His quickness and timing is what's

What's amazing is how a game changes as it progresses. You almost ALWAYS see someone go RIGHT AT HIM early in the game once or twice, because, fuck it, he can't really be as good as people say, right? By the second half, they're totally avoiding the paint. The intimidation factor is second to none... and it comes due to his talent, size, and you're absolutely right-- the timing. So smart. So skilled. So scary.

plus he was obsessed with playing out near the 3 instead of banging in the paint where we desperately needed help..if you get a chance, read Titus' book. It illustrates Koufos' bitchass-ness perfectly.

Glad to see you around btw. UNDEFEATED in year 1! how bout them apples?

what you think about this year's hoop squad?

Titus is a fucking troll. That book was such garbage. Even when he's right, which he is about KK having designs on being a stretch big, he frames it in such a sensational way that you can't buy it.

Also, that team cancer stuff was overblown. Dude was 19 and had no idea how to carry a team. He wasn't aloof and angry/determined like Evan or preternaturally skilled and charming like Sully. If anyone on that squad had stepped to him, he would have fallen in line but they let him run free and called the year a loss because BJ was coming in to take his spot.

I'm going to find some Maryland videos and games and give dude another look. I haven't seen it in Len but that might just be me. His guards don't help his situation either.

Big men develop so fucking weird that I can't call anything definitive. Shit, look at Tristan. He was awkward as fuck in November..and since January he's 15-10 and hitting free throws.

agree. that floater looks like something i would have credited jamison for if he were still around...that joint look rushed and reckless, but if it's going in...fine. his shot got a looooong way to go.

>Nerlens doesnt have anyone getting him the ball now.

fair point. he has pretty good hands.

Harrow
>has vision but he's dumb and not strong with the ball

i only liked harrow's highlight. never liked what i saw in-game at nc state as much. he can't shoot and he's weak.

and
>Goodwin might as well be wearing a bridle like those horses on
>luck. Straight-line ass dude.

yeah, i don't like goodwin that much. pretty generic. got dat monta ceiling.

He's got a decent right hand
>hook and he's not bad with the faceup/jabstep/drive move. I

depends on where he ends up. i can't call that.

>For all Dion's faults, he'll hit that "get my assist" dumpoff
>pass and that fits with Nerlens crashing from the weakside.

true. but, honestly, i don't think i'll ever come around on dion. i want a marksman at that spot. he not it. it'd be different if he utilized his slashing skills to kick it out to Kyrie when he be wide ass open (that pass against OKC was nice tho), but he goes crashing into the lane with no plan.

>What you think about Alex Len? That dude seems quite mediocre
>but Chad Ford is on cyse alert with him.

chad ford and aran smith at draft.net are the wrongest no-accountability ass evaluators i've ever seen. chad gonna try to eat heavy off hatin austin rivers, but will never bring up that d-will/knight over kyrie agenda he had in 2011.

that said...i like len. he built sturdy than a mug. i would not be a bit surprised id he's better than nerlens in the L.

I don't see him as
>anything better than Kostas Koufous (who is a solid starting
>10-8 big, but still)

Kosta coming around, dogg. He gonna be a 15 and 10 big soon....given the minutes.

Two different categories.

Perimeter (in some ways this means best/most effective
