It did not go unnoticed.

In fairness, I was really sick. The class was one of those "once a week for three hours" deals and I felt like I couldn't in good conscience leave the other guy alone for a three hour discussion with the professor about prison letters. So I went and faded in and out of conscience for about an hour and forty five minutes before leaving at the break.

So, the lesson is that it happens to the best of us.

in a small basement room with an adjunct professor/man of the cloth/intellectual type who bored me more than the mushmouth preist's who did the 11 AM mass after CCD class growing up.

Each Monday night I had that course for the entire semester was a struggle to stay awake from 7-10. My class was more like 8 or 9 than 2 though, that sounds painful.

Then again I didn't voluntarily take that class after having drank my way out of my chosen calling & blown 30 million dollars on popcorn shrimp dinners in just five years while now defaulting on Payday loans.

Really frowned upon to fall asleep while you are in military training but I did it...numerous times. Sometimes even when I was in the front of my class.

Good thing I was smart and knew my stuff because otherwise I probably would have had a much tougher time with the instructors at tech school.

I had a Spanish literature class in college that was two people. The professor only spoke Spanish and French. It bordered on brutal at times. The other guy in the class pissed me off about something I can't remember so I skipped the next class and hung him out to dry. It was every bit as effective as I imagined it would be. He apologized for whatever it was.

always seem like a good idea at the time because it was once a week. there's no good time of the day for them either. it's either too early, or your ready to go into a post-lunch coma, or at night when you've had a full day already.

Because he as so tall, his passes rarely were
batted down

And Tebow's problem was that his windup and release
took forever

Vince had a very quick release

So you're going to have to try harder

http://www.chron.com/sports/college-football/article/Scouts-agree-UT-s-Young-has-NFL-star-quality-1924829.php

The same pro scouts who dissect — and try to keep up with — his every move on the field spend the same amount of time putting his flaws under the microscope. His inconsistent arm angle and release point are at the top of the list.....

The concern among scouts is asking Young to do too much with his legs.

"If he's not an effective passer, it's asking a lot for a quarterback to beat you with his legs," one NFC scout said. "People like for quarterbacks to throw the ball. If he can be effective with his throwing motion, I'm fine with that. (2004 first-round pick) Philip Rivers has a funny throwing motion."

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/news/story?id=2380236

Young, the former Texas quarterback, worked out for 30 minutes in front of more than 100 NFL scouts, coaches and executives who are paying close attention to the quirky throwing motion that still raises questions despite delivering a national championship.

http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/football/draft/2006-03-01-debate-young_x.htm

"There are two distinct camps on Vince Young," NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock says. "The first camp is, 'I don't care what his throwing motion looks like, or that he's not a sophisticated reader of defense. He makes plays and might be the most exciting athlete to ever come into this league.' Then there's the other camp that says, 'He's a bigger Michael Vick. While he's exciting, will he ever get to the next level as a sophisticated quarterback and reader of defense?'

"That second concern is starting to bother personnel people, because the guaranteed dollars are immense. It makes for a more difficult evaluation. Can he come into the NFL and run the ball 15-18 times a game? I'll show you 31 defensive coordinators who would love to have Vince Young run the ball 15-18 times a game.

"(But) sooner or later, he has to be able to throw the football. Are you willing to pass all your chips into the middle of the table and gamble on him?"

scouts talking pre-draft about whether they were gonna have to re-train him then it drifting into a discussion of what had happened with David Carr (another sidearm sucker).

Vince Young is not very good at passing and never has been.

Even though that was only in 2005, spread offenses have added a lot of complexity since then. Dude lived pretty much on throwing stick routes to Dave Thomas and scaring the bejesezus out of defenses with his feet to open up routes. I wonder what he would have done in a Chip Kelly offense or something like that.

And Vince wasn't THAT bad of a passer in the pros. He had a nice deep ball (I remember watching Jaws specifically pointing that out), and he wasn't nearly as bad as guys like Tebow or Jamarcus or anyone like that. His real problem was that he was a bit of a headcase... average passer + headcase usually doesn't stick around.

VY: 8-5 record, 184/357 (51.5%) 2,199 yards, 12TD / 13 INT 66.7 rating. 83 car / 552 yds (6.7 YPC) 7 TD

Tebow: 8-6 record, 162/341 (47.5%) 2,381 yards, 16 TD / 9 INT 74.3 rating. 146 car / 820 yards (5.6 YPC) 9 TD

bottom line: it's pretty close, and they're both bad.

He put up really nice numbers in 2009 and 2010, but at that point he already had started to get a reputation as injury prone and as a headcase. We shouldn't hold his first two years numbers against him forever, or his 4 INT game as an Eagle (probably the last NFL memory anyone will have of him), cause he did some good things in between and had some good games in there.

It's certainly possible that Tebow could put up better numbers in the future, though when watching him, it's hard to convince yourself of that.

Really VY's and Tebow's biggest problem is that the baggage outweighs any potential payoff... these guys are almost definitely better than most #3s and a good amount of #2s, but it's a media distraction to have them on your team and who needs that from your backup QB?

they both suck.

the Tebow-VY debate started innocently enough when Tebow was on his win streak last year, and I simply said "a lot of people on OKS shitting on Tebow for relying on his defense and run game and pulling wins out of his ass despite poor play, are the same people who used to ride for Vince Young when he was getting Hoge'd in his rookie year."

folks tried to act like they weren't even on the same planet, performance-wise.

it's an insult to the success of these current niggas to even mention vince young name in comparison to them.

Prebow is the perfect way to describe him.

Ex-adviser: Young needed loan for $300,000 party
By DANNY ROBBINS (Associated Press) | The Associated Press – 1 hour 19 minutes ago

Email

DALLAS (AP) -- The former financial adviser for ex-NFL quarterback Vince Young says he arranged a seven-figure loan for Young during the 2011 lockout because the player wanted to throw himself a $300,000 birthday party even though he was running low on funds.

Ronnie Peoples of Raleigh, N.C., said under oath during a videotaped deposition last month he contacted New York-based Pro Player Funding LLC about the loan after being informed that Young had already paid for the party.

The deposition was taken as part of a proceeding in which the former University of Texas star is challenging the validity of a $1.7 million judgment against him. A transcript of the deposition was obtained by The Associated Press.

Young's attorney says Peoples' account is inaccurate.
