i just feel like the top 4 west teams comprise a "tier" and all deserve multiple guys. when you parse the metrics, memphis isn't *quite* in the OKC/LAC/SAS class but they're still a clear cut above the other 11 teams in the conf. and gasol's definitely been their 2nd best player thus far.
west's had a better season than george. i could see a "george over deron" argument -- their WS and WS/48 are basically identical, deron's got a slight edge in PER -- but i'm not comfortable with 2 pacers / 0 nets. doesn't quite feel right. plus the rules mandate @ least 2 backcourt players on the bench and i'm not sure george would qualify this year. as far as i know, he's mostly been playing SF in granger's stead.
