i'd take it >_<

only thing that'd give me pause is De Gea...but i've always thought he'll end up back in spain ultimately.

either way it's not happening in January. but i cant see CR7 staying at madrid too much longer regardless of where he goes.

he's GOTTA get his finishing in order if he wants to make it at United. his general play cooks but the motherfucker is clumsy as shit on the ball when it's time to shoot.

n/o but if he's going on loan Villa would be an awful place for him to land.

and with Bebe shuffled out the door, that leaves RVP, Chicharito, Rooney, Welbeck and Macheda the only available first team strikers, and Welbeck is on the CLeague roster, too.
He'll stay and play as needed in attack or on the wings.

It's official sturridge now plays for liverfool.

We have been doing too much business with them ...I hate that squad to death

we sell them a Mid ( cole)
we then buy a mid from them (mrlsh)

we buy a striker from them ( wack torres)
and then sell a striker to them (sturridge)

they bought a striker from newcastle( carroll)
and now we are about to buy a striker from newcastle(ba).

let me find out I'm related to smut ...that will be the kicker

The Mirror is a crap source, but according to their statements, ba has to pass a physical first in order for the deal to go through.

If he does not pass, then the deal is off, according to their records.

I say go through with it even if he fails......He failed a physical at stoke city, but after that he went on to West Ham and became very productive, and went on to castle to become quality.....plus see RVP( constantly injured at arsenal)

I thought they were having money issues in Florence? Supposedly at 12 Million euro sale, but if he can come back from injury to where he was, it will be a steal.

Apparently the club's batted down offers from Arsenal (earlier, not 16m), Tottenham, City, Chelsea

16m is cause for pause though.

with the directors you mentioned, the money, new training facility and an article in the guardian this morning with him saying he wanted to coach in the EPL ... and then ... bayern?

like TJT said in the weekly thread, good move to a great club with less stress than el clasico or top four in england.

The high stress environment and the toll it had on him was a major factor in him leaving Barcelona...I think dude thoroughly enjoys the thought of coaching for a major club in relatively low stress league.

when they got Alba. If they can get that going again, it'd be a great buy.

Courtois has been playing well, too. I've also heard they're looking at De Gea but he'll probably cost too much (should United even be willing to sell) and I don't ever see Casillas moving to Barca in any possible world lol. That *would* be great though.

This is no big surprise, and was pretty much a foregone conclusion awhile back.

Now we can all move forward, and hopefully frank's mind is at rest now.

Legend. However, it was time for him to move on, and he is now going to be the face of MLS.

I might actually watch some MLS because of this.

newcastle made a good move swooping for Yanga-Mbiwa.
arsenal rumored to be after wanyama from celtic, if not him then diame from west ham. either would be really smart, imo.

But it does leave MCFC short of a striker, as they only have Tevez, Aguero, and Dzeko.

I do realize how ridiculous that statement is, but they will have problems if they have any injuries up top.

Santos is obviously garbage. Doesn't really do anything for the CL since Nacho is cup tied but maybe we play Jenkinson at LB.

his knee issue is highly, highly exaggerated.

He failed one physical at stoke.

he passed his physicals at west Ham, Newcastle and at Chelsea, and he has been injury free since going to west ham.

he is one of the most durable players on the pitch.

Well, he had that release clause added to his contract. That was how newcastle was able to get him so cheap, and how a lot of mediocre teams are able to get quality players.

An upcoming player will sign with a team for cheap so that the team can buy him. However, the player negotiates a low release clause in his contract, so that he can bolt to a big team once his stardom rises and when bigger clubs come calling.

Newcastle got him off of a free loan from West Ham, and they were only paying him 20,000 a week, and an additional 20, 000 for every game started.....

but, yeah, release clauses are so rare in EPL ... plus, for a player of his caliber, £7m was dirt cheap.

clauses are required by law in spain and portugal. always love trolling their players on FM for strangely low release clauses.

no newcastle got him for cheap.....they got him off of FREE TRANSFER from west ham, and he was paid low wages( only 20,000 guaranteed, the other 20 he had to earn in each game ...by being on the field because of their knee concerns) , but the goldmine for ba was his release clause

newcastle wanted to keep him , and they were willing to pay him top wages, but he refused to drop his release clause because he wanted to go to a big team

chelsea still paid 7 million to get him ...chump change ...but newcastle
paid nothing to get him from west ham.

also a lot of players have release clauses in the epl.....it's just that ba's clause was really, really low( strategically)..Fellaini's release clause is at 22million right now.

Ramsey nor Arteta are the answer because niether of them provide the cover and ball winning ability needed to support our thoroughly mediocre (at best) center backs.

The fact that this may mean I'll never have to see Santos again is a win.

I actually like coquelin, he's not dynamic but pretty steady. Ave no idea how Ramsey is ahead of him in pecking order. Or is he hurt?

Coquelin was injured but will be available this weekend according to Wenger. I'll live with Nacho but I wanted Mertesacker relegated to the bench. That won't happen now.

this is a move that slipped under my radar...really disappointing when big players with potential move laterally rather than vertically (how I felt about Hulk's move from Portugal to Russia, for instance) but that's where the money is!

really good player..i guess im happy he's not somewhere wack like chelsea, but i wont ever get to see him play in russia (not that we got to see him play in the ukrainian league but...at last shakhtar are perennial champions leaguers..also they were my sleeper to do damage in the knockout stages this year).
