Horry hit the go-ahead 3 from the top corner at Portland after Kobe drove and dished to beat them in 3...after that, we caught fire against Sac and especially SA. I'm sure you remember the finals.

In all seriousness though, that game 1 W earned my respect because our '01 team was on a roll that may never be duplicated again. Incredible game, still makes me a bit bitter because it obviously killed our chance at unsurpassable perfection.

It's all about building up to the playoffs and peaking there. No one has done that better than that 01' team, thus the best winning % in playoff history. I have major respect for the Sixers team taking game 1 because we were a juggernaut.
Healthy Shaq, Kobe playing the most effective ball of his career, D Fish absolutely lights out from distance(set the record for most 3's in a 4 game playoff stretch - 16 in the sweep of the spurs), every roll player in complete harmony with the system.
It was beautiful. I'd take my chances w that team in a 7 game series against any in NBA history.
