So no obituaries to be made.

"Had" in past tense,...probably can ask that question in 2-4 years.

Boozer will be playing for another 5 atleast.

Both maxed out on contracts at every stop they had.

Both excelled in the paint and helped teams reach playoffs.

Both have excellent ppg's and rbpg's.

-

I would think Boozer has the upper hand, for he remains healthy in his career.

Maxing out ridiculously from contracts and making a bundle.

Very wise business man and basketball player,...he seizes the moment.

Brand was fantastic at the Clippers and continues to be one of my favorites.

I would think Boozer is a much more powerful player,...his averages are higher and he is more reliable on banking on when it comes to the court.

Both are non chalant characters, that put their life and business before the ball.

Both are vicarious.

Good comparison.

I would go with Boozer.

He is younger, and fitter.

Simply because of his averages, and his consistency.

He has a amazing work rate,...only all stars\superstars can compare.

A beast indeed.

-
I love Brand though.

and never understand why Jerry R. released Chandler,Brand and Artest from Chicago.

Dude made a mistake then, and is continuing to make a mistake today.

Boozer has been a more efficient scorer and that's not to say that Brand has been ineffective. In EVERY other area of the game, Brand's career beats Boozer. He was a defensive anchor in his prime and has considerably better rebounding numbers despite a heavy tail off for a two or three years now.

It could be argued that Boozer is in a little better shape right now but neither of these guys is going to be mentioned in the same breath as Karl Malone when it comes to longevity/durability.

Elton had better individual accolades in college, but Booz does have a title. In the pros, again, Brand's individual performance I'd say is better (especially Pre-injury), but Booz's teams tended to make more playoff games-- and he played very well on those teams.

Just kinda depends what you prefer in terms of career achievement, individual or team.

#1 pick overall vs 2nd round pick.

He just didn't stick around and get that chip. He might've if he stayed another year.

The "injury plagued" label caused him to slip. If he'd been healthy at Duke, he was an easy lotto pick. Folks were just scared.

I'm pretty sure that alone eclipses Boozer's accomplishments.

Clarence Weatherspoon, Sharone Wright, Chris Webber, et al can tell you allllllll about it.

I feel like Philly has had ONE power forward since George McGinnis and that's Barkley. Since then, they shouldn't even try to be ambitious. What is Tyrone Hill up to these days???

Boozer put up solid numbers but dude was never close to the defensive presence that Brand was (he has really long arms and great timing), and also dissapeared against taller competition (I saw this personally in consecutive years against Pau and LO).

and sad to say folks gonna remember Booze more for being the man who left the Cavs and lebron, then playing with D Will in Salt lake and then with D Rose in the CHI. his association game is the only thing that he has over Brand, however it is a biggie.

Brand got hurt and is a afterthought to alot of folks sad to say, if he had have had gotten a chance to play with a D Will or somebody of that skill set in his prime and peak then he might have been a borerline HOF IMO.

Booze is a 3rd wheel no matter what the situation.
