"I'm riding hard as fuck for Cam to keep making fuckers MAD"

They tryna downplay his season like SHIT

-talkin bout "if RGIII has a Cam year," so cavalierly, like that shit's ever been done BEFORE

-if Luck had CLOSE to a season like that, they would be drinking his children through his next contract negotiation and blame EVERY other team deficiency on places other than him

-if Tebow (the nigga Cam BACKED UP in case y'all forgot) did HALF of this??? my shit, all forms of communication might be overloaded

-for all the DOUBTS that these fuckers threw out and shit they were talking about him, they sure as FUCK went mute. all i know is these assholes would be TWICE as loud if he was "bust city" as they were when he proved to be a BOSS

-he's gonna have to show it in the 'offs, and I believe soon enough he will

Now that Money Man is "on ice" for a minute, Cam might be the single most galvanizing force on this forum.

Maybe he will and maybe he wont but Cam had one of the best seasons for a rookie QB ever (stat wise, not win wise obviously)

Sure you always hope a QB will have the best season ever but it can't become the measuring stick of what you hope to get out of a rookie each year.

Would be like saying, the Jets are hoping to get a 2011 Drew Brees type year out of Mark Sanchez this season.

and depending on what market you live in they might not have been on any of the network games on sunday
kind of hard to hype the season of a team half the country never saw play
he got plenty of highlights on espn, won ROY easily, and we all know he had a rookie season for the ages.....
because they TALKED about it
not sure what more you want really for a player on a shitty team that barely had any national exposure

you're talking about they're downplaying his season
then in the very next sentence talking about how they're using his season as the new measuring stick for hyped QBs because he raised the bar
which one is it
seems like you're mad about nothing

and his "character issues" were getting beaten to death. and then the nigga goes out and throws 400+ yards in his first two games ever???

like moonwalked past peyton manning's rookie season EARLY

so to even act like the next cat can do what had never been done before like its that fuckin easy? its an unrealistic expectation to even put out there for anyone because most didn't even expect cam to have a GOOD season.

that's not really downplaying, people are just excited for RG3 and Luck. in fact these aren't even predictions, so I don't see what you're arguing with.

>
>-if Tebow (the nigga Cam BACKED UP in case y'all forgot) did

true, but of course that's the case. he's a popular guy. also as much as I hate Tebow's game, Florida won 1 trophy with him as the starter and 1 as a back-up, so yelling about Cam being the back-up to him is pretty useless.

depends on their draft, but i can see them legitimately getting over ATL and capitalizing somewhat on the uncertainty in New Orleans. Tampa Bay made a big splash in free agency but I think they have too many parts to make a big push for the top.

4 wins in the division is required to pull it off which isn't impossible. If Carolina shore up their defense in the draft, wild isn't out of the question....

While I hate the Falcons with a passion, Carolina has always had trouble with them historically. I expect the birds to win the division and lose to the eventual super bowl champion in the playoffs.

but they get back all of their hurt defense. the offense was way improved w/ cam running through a shortened playbook. and atl is on the way down.

nfl kind of set the schedule to not penalize NO too much, but i don't see them making a whole lot of noise.

bucs are... yeah.

panthers taking the NFC south. book it.

and when you watch the computer play each other? tuck and run 9/10 times. come on man (c) Rex

Carolina should have a 90+ offense but a 70 defense...could be higher due to all the injuries on defense last season...their defense should improve off of health alone....

"This is the honest truth: I could absolutely care less on yards per game," Alex Smith said. "I think that's a totally overblown stat. Because if you're losing games in the second half, guess what? You're like the Carolina Panthers and you're going no-huddle the entire second half and, yeah, Cam Newton threw for a lot of 300-yard games, that's great. You're not winning, though."

ANY 9ers fan that wants some, BRING IT. Cam's performed better in a shortened season than Alex has in 7 seasons.

Alex Smith has FUCKING SUCKED for some gotdamn long I don't know where to start.

The audacity of that FUCKING SORRY ASS QB is astounding.

Apparently ONE GOOD season qualifies Alex to talk shit. Alex Smith is a glorified bust. The motherfucker WISHES he had half the skill Cam possesses.

Alex was in the top 10 in terms of least amount passes per game. He's a glorified Tebow because his coach barely trusts him to let loose.

I'm saving 9ers fans keystrokes by copping bullshit pleas:

Alex needed time to develop.

Alex was constantly injured.

Alex had too many coaches and offensive coordinators.

Alex Smith had more pressure than Cam.

Out of AALLLLLL the QBs that can pop shit, ALEX FUCKING SMITH is talking shit. We've seen far better versions of Alex Smith get hung out to dry... namely Jason Campbell. If the 49ers weren't so prestigious they wouldn't have stuck with Alex Smith.

Alex Smith is a fucking bust who sucks and will lose his job next season. For the first time in OKSports history I'M MAD AS SHIT.

yeah, these are feminine feelings at play. the audacity of someone

He's NOT TALKING SHIT. Did he say he was better than Cam? Did he even say his TEAM was better than Cam's? NO. he spoke about how the passing game improving relates to 300+ yard games and how it has little to do with that. If a QB passes for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns and wins the game 32-10 and another passes for 400+ yards and 2 TDs and loses, who had the better day? I'll let you think about that one for awhile.

Yes, that's talking shit. This dude thinks he's an upper echelon QB and can talk shit abiut Cam. FOH. He talked shit on the sly. WE SEE YOUR BUM ASS. Cam's a rookie who had little to no offseason to prepare and still had a better year than Alex. Pull out them rookie stats you got on deck. I'M NOT TRYING TO HEAR ALEX FUCKING SMITH SUBLIMINALLY SHIT ON Cam. He's well on his way to holding a clipboard. Let's see him compare passing games from the sideline. For the record, I'll take Cam. Alex doesn't throw enough to consistently put up Cam-esque numbers so let's dead that shit right now. I've got a list of QBs who can look halfway decent with 7 seasons of starts with all that time to develop.

those two statements "do not compute" LOL

no person who watched THAT much of the team could come to that conclusion unless they didn't know what they were talking about.

he was a glorified bust UNTIL LAST YEAR? nah mufucker, either he's a bust or he's not. UNTIL doesn't cut it.

you're talking about ELITE quarterbacks. they don't have to field these questions. tom brady and ben roethlisberger weren't pinged for yards per game early in their careers because they were WINNING.

"a live QB handle that offense?" nigga do you know who the fuck he had to throw to most of the season? CLEARLY YOU DON'T. this shit is like the best of "niggas mad that Alex smith ain't nearly as bad as they said since they finally got a competent coach" that OldPro made.

tell me how many "live QBs" led two scoring drives in the way he did v. the Saints in the playoffs. since he AINT SHIT.

LOL you fucking kidding me? Campbell's been in the same boat as Alex. Last year he was having SOME success before he got injured, but he's never had GREAT SUCCESS. And I'm not saying I don't think he's capable. But it's hard for guys to succeed when their shit changes up each year.

>I had to cover all possible bases in terms of copping pleas for your >squad. 9ers fans have told me that Alex had lots of pressure coming >into the league and playing for such a storied franchise.

again, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. the reason management stuck with him is because 1) they paid him so much money 2) they had absolutely no direction and had coaches that didn't know what the fuck they were doing

SO WOULD I. CAN YOU READ? The first thing I said was that Cam was a better quarterback. Why did you conveniently leave that out from this vaginal bleed?

>Alex doesn't throw enough to consistently put up Cam-esque numbers so >let's dead that shit right now. I've got a list of QBs who can look >halfway decent with 7 seasons of starts with all that time to >develop.
again. you're either a Panthers fan, or a groupie who is visibly shaken by comments made in the context of 300 yards don't necessarily mean wins. Why would he name any of the 300+ yard passers WHO WON? Now in this era of 24-7 reporting, it was not wise to mention anyone by name, but he wasn't trying to shit on Cam.

I was merely giving Alex the benefit of the doubt. He balled in a contract year and not trying to completely shit on him. Overall, he's a bust. But last year he showed an ability to at least look the part of an NFL starter.

>>I know Cam was mad and that's more passion that Alex has ever

Correction: FUCKING GARBAGE QBs who should be thankful they're still in the league didn't go out of their way to shit on them. They could but they didn't. That's not something legit QBs do.

Outside of Steve Smith (by accounts looked done and on his way out so don't cop a plea) who did came have to throw to? Let's break this shit down:

Brandon Lafell
David Gettis
Armanti Edwards
Chris Manno

Shut the fuck up about wide receivers.

You said name one QB and I did. SOME SUCCESS?! REALLY? By the way Jason Campbell is far better than Alex Smith. He played in more offensive systems counting college. He's a far superior QB. The only difference is 9ers fans have copped pleas for FUCKING ever about Alex's ability.

NOPE! FUCKING GARBAGE ALEX SMITH, is not about to downplay the greatest statistical rookie season in league history. SORRY. He needs to pick on someone in his weight class.

>>Alex doesn't throw enough to consistently put up Cam-esque

That shows that Alex's feelings were hurt. Who is HE to talk shit about passing yards and completion percentage. HANH?! BUST ASS ALEX SMITH cannot talk shit about having great statistical games versus winning, neither of which he's done consistently over the course of 7 years. GTFOH. WE SEE YOU NIGGA. Alex Smith will take his astute analysis to a fucking scout team in the near future. Mark Sanchez could talk shit (but he won't because he has class unlike a certain FUCKING GARBAGE QB) because he's a proven winner and has done both while improving each year. Alex Smith is for rude awakening this year if he has to pass the football consistently this year.

Cam had to pass so much to keep his team in games. He's shown he can lead and not get by unlike others. AL
lex needs to be concerned with Josh or Colin coming for that spot than subliminally shitting on younger QBs who show far more promise in one year than he's EVER SHOWN. I respect the 9ers and one point rode for Alex. But he'a out of line here. If it's so easy to throw for 300 yards consistently how come he didn't do it his rookie year? Don't cop a plea for the coach because Cam had a rookie head coach with no OTAs and very little prep time.

truthfully, whether a QB is legendary or middle of the road shouldn't justify them "shitting" on anyone. but you make it sound like dude was sitting in a chair reminiscing on a good season saying "yeah i COULD have had 300 yards like cam, but i just wanted to win." when he was really talking about game situations and what things called for.

THEY ASKED HIM ABOUT PASSING YARDS PER GAME. ARE YOU THAT DENSE? He didn't bring it up out of the blue. He didn't say it was easy. He just said that throwing for 300 yards doesn't mean that you're winning games.

When Cam responds, I bet his reply is 50% less asshole chafed than yours.

Alex could've used a general term and articulated his point a helluva better. As it stands, subliminally shitting on Cam will be viewed by some as sucka shit. I stopped riding for Alex because he didn't have the skill of a starting QB. I've seen far better QBs with more upside get cut or forced to switch positions because they didn't have it.... Remember most QBs are lucky if they start for three years then it's clipboard duty. So I feel a csrtain kind of way when a FUCKING GARBAGE QB who's had 7 years to show something even subliminally takes an ill-advised swipe. Tom Brady could say that because he's a gamer but not ALEX FUCKING SMITH.

It's too many attractive women for me to sit here to shitting on A FUCKING GARBAGE QB. Josh Johnson coming for them reps, book it, archive it and tweet it.

maybe Smith forgot how difficult it is to come into this league and succeed right away at the QB position...which would be a shame, he more than anyone should know, he was one of the shittiest rookies with the worst TD:INT ratio in recent memory.

and lol @ the thought of Alex's record with the Panthers defense.

he sounds like a fool.

If Alex Smith is throwing for 300 yards, the 9ers are losing and playing catch up.

The Panthers were a good example for him to use, because unlike pass-happy WINNING offenses in New Orleans or Green Bay or Detroit (still can't believe Detroit fully belongs in a sentence like that), every time Cam threw for 300 yards, Carolina lost. They're a run first team like the niners, and Cam airing it out meant that they were behind and needed to catch up quickly.

its been a long time since i could look at a rookie of the year qb and definitively say that the lions would be worse with him than their current guy

I understand that he makes a lot men question
their sexuality, and that's cool, but c'mon.

OBVIOUSLY Cam is insanely talented.

Just leave it there.

The fact is that when he threw the ball a lot,
they lost.

When he played disciplined, ball control offense
and he managed the game, he won.

Not saying the losses are his fault, but cats
are in here are letting their sexual attraction
ruin their football views and its wild homo,

So if Cam is getting to 300 yards, either they were severely getting away from their gameplan because they were far behind, or he threw a pair of 60 yard TDs to Steve Smith.

Cam threw for 400 against the Cardinals...he was taking what they were giving him...they put 8 in the box to stop the run...special teams and the defense killed Carolina in this game.

Cam threw for 400 against the Packers...they led for the majority of the game...he threw alot of INTs in that game and put the defense in some bad situations...

off the top of my head, i can't remember the 3rd 300 yard game...i am thinking it was either the Lions or Titans and both of those games got out of hand...

...either they're behind, or he hit Steve Smith with a pair of 60 yard bombs.

they weren't all to smith, but in the Arizona game, 150 of his yards came on 3 completions, and in the Green Bay game 130 came on 3 completions. The 3rd 300 yard game was against the Bears (374) where his 3 longest completions went for 105 yards. In each of the three games, he had a pass to smith that went for more than 50 yards.

You should have just stopped by saying that throwing for
300 yards is not always great because the points your
making are indicative of someone who didn't watch the games.

In Cam's big passing games, the only reason they were in
the games at all was because of his passing. He was literally
the only one who showed up those days.

The Steve Smith point works in Cam's favor: LAST YEAR Steve
Smith said the HE WAS NO LONGER a #1 receiver and was happy
to take a backseat.

Cam gets there, and Smith is a top receiver. That argument
works in Cam's favor.

So by pointing out the big yardage plays to Smith, you're
actually making the case that Cam made others better, which
he did.

If you don't watch the games and throws, than you are
gonna sound like an idiot.

Guys who were ready to hate Cam like Merrill Hoge were
salivating because of his ability to read defenses,
call audibles and because of his long ball accuracy. I
think he had more big passing plays than anyone in the
league and it isn't because he had Randy Moss jumping over
people out there.

He can throw the football. The long ball stats were no
fluke

At the beginning of the season...Carolina had leads going into the second half. The reason why Cam threw as much as he did was because of what the defense was giving him. At the beginning of the year, there was a lot of 8 in the box to stop Double Trouble so he threw.

Carolina became a more balanced offense as the season progressed because opponents respected the pass much more than when Jimmy Clausen was at the helm...

the written article left out the video where the reporter who said "you ranked low in passing yards per game, how does that tie into the improvement you guys need to make?"

Then Alex made his statement re: Cam and the Panthers, followed by:

"All of a sudden we're up in the third and fourth quarter and, yeah, naturally, you're going to be in four-minute offense, you're going to be grinding it out," Smith said. "You're going to be running the ball a lot more. You're not going to have as many 300-yard passing games."

Smith, however, acknowledges there is a lot of room for the 49ers' passing game to improve this season.

"We were so inconsistent when we had to throw the football," he said. "Third-and-mediums, third-and-longs we weren't very good. Red zone, we weren't good at times. We got to get better there."

i get we're itching for football and this will have panties up in bunches but he's not a "hater"

Also convenient that he don't have to worry about facing the Panthers on their schedule next season. Wait until Cam get in datass in Fall 2013 tho.

Andy Dalton and Cam Newton joined Peyton Manning as the only rookie quarterbacks in NFL history to throw for at least 3,000 pass yards and 20 pass touchdowns in their first season.

Cam is a better QB than Dalton, I'll admit that. But let's not act like Dalton ain't shit either. Sure, he lost to the good teams but he beat all the teams he was supposed to and led them into the playoffs. I don't see RGIII or Luck doing that.

motherfuckers are ASSHOLE INFLAMED FURIOUS about Alex Smith making a comment about passing yardage and how it reflects game situations?

will took his comments out of context intentionally to get inflamed assholes itchy and scratchy.

alex was talking about the need for the 49ers passing game to improve and was speaking specifically to the notion that it needed to be reflected in 300 yard passing games.

you bitches are so caught up in fantasy stats that you think that shit translates to NFL victories.

i made this post to pre-emptively check how commentators and predictors who underestimated him will be jumping on him any chance they can.

you hoes are turning it into something else.

then will finds someone who was actually legitimately casting some shade on cam and beamer's not defending cam but rather defending alex smith, one of the (many) bust-esque hybrid QBs drafted high who were part of the questioning of cam newton as a #1 pick.

that's mild for Skip. not even eyebrow raising worthy. but if you're talking to someone who won 13 games last year about how important it is to have 300 yards per game passing, it IS overblown.

Smith made the quote "juicy" because *he* was the one who brought up Newton. the rest of the interview provides no additional context on why he specifically mentioned Newton and his losing 300-yard passing games.

I *do* think Smith was throwing some shade on Newton, but I know the point he was otherwise trying to make. most of us agree that passing yardage is a metric that depends on situations (although it was poorly argued above).

but the coincidence of Smith's comments on Newton, with your dual Smith + Newton agendas, was just too hilarious not to post. I think you took it a little hard, calling everyone bitches and hoes and itchy rectums.

I'd love a response from Newton:

"I definitely agree with Alex. Throwing for 300 yards is not always what my team needs. But not all of us have the luxury of playing with a defense that holds opponents to 14 points a game. Some of us have to take chances with the football down the field."

not sure if you just read the article or the video, but he was talking about how once you get to 300 yards passing the chance of winning goes down. said it had gotten better in years but would like to see the stat for it.
i mean it wouldn't make much sense to mention the 300+ yard passers who were winning would it? nevermind all those dudes were on established teams that threw early and often (Pats, Saints, Lions, Packers)

>I *do* think Smith was throwing some shade on Newton, but I
>know the point he was otherwise trying to make. most of us

I can't see him having any particular issue with Cam Newton, since he was talking about the PANTHERS being behind and him having to throw for a lot to keep them in the game.

>but the coincidence of Smith's comments on Newton, with your
>dual Smith + Newton agendas, was just too hilarious not to

um, ur boy Kira went off a little hard and started pulling up like his entire career.

i don't think i called anyone a bitch or ho, though.

and that would be fine, and appropriate. Alex would have done better not to mention his name, but I don't think he was actually shitting on Cam. Uncharacteristic of him to mention anyone's name, even though other players have shit on him, but frustrated with constantly being asked about yards per game when the team had such great success.

The Bucs had a great draft and while Atlanta may be treading water and N'awlins will have some bounty adjustments, both teams are still more talented than Carolina to me

I got no beef with Cam, hell some dude was trying to convince me that Jake Locker was still going to have the better NFL career....FOH

I think he will continue to grow and get better even if the team record and results don't speak to it for now.
