"The wildest child: 'SUPER' Mario Balotelli"

Every week its something with this dude. If he isn't talking about racism in his new book:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/dec/15/mario-balotelli-italian-racism-book

Or if he isn't talking shit about opponents after winning an award:

http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/blog/dirty-tackle/post/Balotelli-wears-ridiculous-hat-announces-only-M;_ylt=AjGjUCFLLm4wi6EsTx9auuwmw7YF?urn=sow-298831

Dude scores and then gets a red card. Or then he scores and gets injured and leaves the pitch.

He's only 21 and he's one of the most gifted strikers in the World, but you gotta wonder how long the young'un can get away with his behaviour on and off the pitch.

Balotelli hat-trick sees off Villa

MANCHESTER, England (AP)—Mario Balotelli scored a hat-trick as City secured a comfortable 4-0 win that puts it top of the Premier League table.

English media reports have suggested that Balotelli wants to leave City after failing to settle in Manchester but he was made to feel at home by the Aston Villa defense on Tuesday.

City, who could even afford to rest topscorer Carlos Tevez, was ahead in the 8th minute through a Balotelli penalty before Joleon Lescott’s header doubled the lead in the 13th. Balotelli then notched his second with less than half-an-hour gone after good play from the excellent David Silva.

Balotelli’s third again came from the penalty spot to leave struggling Villa just two points above the relegation zone.

De Jong: Balotelli needs to change

Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong fears Mario Balotelli will become a marked man because of his petulant behaviour.

Balotelli, 20, was red carded on Thursday night - his second of his debut season after arriving from Inter Milan in the summer. The Italian striker was banished to the dressing room in the 36th minute by Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir for a studs-up challenge on Dynamo Kiev defender Goran Popov.

Manager Robert Mancini was incensed by Balotelli's action and de Jong is concerned that some opponents will target his team-mate. De Jong said: "Tomorrow is a new day and I am sure we are going to sit down with Mario. He has got to realise he has to change how he plays because he is always going to be a marked man. He knows that."

He added: "We have to continue with him as well. He has a lot of potential, the skill he shows at times is unbelievable.

"He is a talented boy and maybe you do not intend to let your team down with those sort of things.

"But I told him as well you have got to learn from your mistakes.

"We are there to help him, not to criticise him or blast him away.

"He has experienced guys around him and has to listen to them.

"After the game he was angry and he was disappointed. Sometimes you make mistakes and Mario made his mistake. But he will get everything straight again."

Man City probe Balotelli dart incident - report

LONDON (AFP) – Manchester City are investigating reports that troublesome Italian striker Mario Balotelli threw a dart at youth-team players, according to a report by British daily The Independent on Monday.

Balotelli is alleged to have thrown "at least one dart" at members of City's youth squad at the club's Carrington training centre, but his intended targets are reported to have escaped unhurt.

"City are yet to establish a full understanding of why Balotelli threw the dart and will give him the chance to offer an explanation before deciding what action to take," wrote The Independent.

"Manager Roberto Mancini will also need to be brought up to speed with the incident, as he has been away from the club.

"He will seek an explanation from the 20-year-old striker before discussing the incident with senior executives at the club."

Balotelli has been a recurrent source of controversy since joining City from reigning Italian champions Inter Milan last year.

He was dropped from the Italy squad for their Euro 2012 qualifier against Slovenia last week after being sent off for a chest-high foul on an opponent in a Europa League game between City and Dynamo Kiev.

http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/blog/dirty-tackle/post/Balotelli-gave-1-000-to-hobo-probably-did-some;_ylt=ApNHGmpkfMy6ezjDsLPLJj0mw7YF?urn=sow-wp989

The last couple years have been an endless parade of Mario Balotelli doing things and then everyone else telling you how horrible those things were. Which is why this story is so jarring and might make you cry for reasons that you can't fully comprehend.

According to The Sun, Balotelli gave £1,000 cash to a homeless man after winning £25,000 inside a Manchester casino last week. The man was apparently someone Mario has come across more than once in his travels around Manchester and after his good fortune in the casino on a night out with Blackburn's Chris Samba, he was in a giving mood.

A source said: "Mario is really generous. He always hands £20 notes to the Big Issue boys without even taking the magazine. There's a guy he always sees around town with ginger dreadlocks and a beard. He carries his possessions in two carrier bags.

"He was outside the club in the early hours so Mario handed him a wad of notes after his big win. The tramp couldn't believe his luck. It was enough to keep him going for months."

Given all we've been told, this really doesn't compute, does it? I mean, ginger dreadlocks? That alone is enough to give you a migraine.

Anyway, since we know that Mario Balotelli is pretty much the most evil person to ever walk the earth and that people always fit into easily definable pigeonholes, we can rightly assume that the only reason Mario committed this tremendous act of generosity was so he could run over the happy rasta ginger with his car, collect the money he just gave the now crippled hobo and then do it all over again outside another casino the next night. This just might be why Rio Ferdinand attacked him after the FA Cup semifinal.

this dude just dont give a fuck. impounded 27 times, 3 tickets a day, 30g in the passenger seat. i'm officially on team mario now. he can do no wrong in my eyes.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/3544840/Manchester-City-star-Mario-Balotelli-car-in-pound-27-times.html

MADCAP MARIO BALOTELLI has notched up nearly £10,000 in parking fines and had his luxury car impounded 27 TIMES, The Sun can reveal.

The Manchester City star has left liaison officers at the club tearing their hair out as they have had to go back time and time again to reclaim his Maserati.

The £100,000-a-week Italian striker has had an average of three parking tickets a DAY since he signed for the Premier League club last year.

A source at the club said: "Mario will drive from his luxury apartment to a restaurant a few streets away and leave the car on double yellows.

"The other week the Maserati misfired so he just abandoned it. Staff have had to bail it out 27 times.

"The valet the club uses empties the glovebox of tickets every time he cleans it. Mario doesn't seem to care. It's a drop in the ocean to him."

The source added: "Mario was pulled over by the police and he had £25,000 cash on the passenger seat. They asked him why and he said, 'Because I can'. He doesn't care much for authority."

Balotelli has also paid £300,000 in club fines, most recently for throwing darts at a youth team player.

And on the field he has had ten yellow cards and two reds in only 24 appearances

so it appears that Balotelli isnt a total asshole.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/3571579/Mario-Balotelli-helps-City-fan-being-bullied-at-school.html#ixzz1LuhwrSut

The Manchester City star helped a young autograph hunter being picked on at school - by confronting the bully himself.

The striker questioned why the young lad was playing truant with his mum outside the club's Carrington training ground rather than attending school.

After the fan revealed that he was being bullied, Mario drove the youngster and his mum over to the school in question and demanded a meeting with the headteacher.

The Blues ace got the youngster to confess what had been happening and made him identify the culprit. The lads eventually shook hands before Mario got into his white Maserati and sped off.

A source said: "Mario feels strongly about bullying and thinks it's out of order.

"He had no qualms about sorting the mess out as he felt the lad should not be missing out on school."

If you were the bullied lad's mum, please get in contact.

(Not all of City's high-priced signings have hit the ground running. Mario Balotelli, City's mercurial striker was asked in a live on-field interview after the final if this had been his best game for City. He mortified ITV, which broadcast the game in England, by declaring, with jaw-dropping honesty, "All my season I was shit.")

well done dumbass.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3598759/Mario-Balotelli-throws-water-bombs-at-Serie-A-meeting.html

The controversial Italian striker, 20, was caught on camera throwing water bombs at a meeting of Serie A club chiefs on Monday - having been given the night off by City for 'family reasons'.

Balotelli also dodged City's end-of-season dinner on Sunday night, during which he was named as their Young Player of the Season.

But, on Monday evening, Italian TV caught him, his brother Enoch and agent Mino Raiola larking about at the annual Milan event.

Together they drenched TV crews while, earlier, Balotelli brought chaos to the narrow streets as he tried to park his white Maserati before being picked up by Raiola.

Despite ducking what proved to be a memorable night back in Manchester, Balotelli admitted he knew how important it was to everyone at his club.

He said: "Winning the FA Cup was fantastic. I didn't realise just how important it was until we got to the final.

"So I managed to do something good this season and I'm doing well with Roberto Mancini. For the fans, the FA Cup is worth almost as much as winning the Premier League."

Balotelli's future is likely to be the subject of more speculation this summer but he insists he will stay put.

He said: "If I come back to Italy, the first thing I am going to do is go home.

"A return to Inter? Who knows, they are a big club. I miss my old team-mates but not Inter and I am doing well in England.

"I am not dreaming about Milan, I am happy with life in Manchester."

First of all, because for the right price he could probably be had right now, esp. since tevez is still on board as cover for Kun and Dzeko.

Secondly, because Arsene + Mario = comedy.

Balotelli quizzed over Mafia links
September 8, 2011

By ESPN staff

Mario Balotelli's turbulent Manchester City career has taken another unsteady turn with the striker ordered by Italian police to explain his links to the country's Mafia.

Balotelli, who has courted controversy since making a £24 million switch from Inter Milan last summer, has been called as a witness by prosecutors in Naples for an anti-Mafia investigation that is going to trial next week.

The forward was given a guided tour of a notorious crime-ridden district of Naples by Mario Iorio, a catering entrepreneur who has been charged with money laundering as part of an ongoing crime investigation. Balotelli will face stiff questioning on his links to Iorio and regarding his visit to the Scampia area when he appears before prosecutors on September 15.

"There is nothing to worry about. I am calm. I had no idea who the people were showing me around Scampia," Balotelli said when asked about the court visit.

"That day there were loads of people around me. I'm sad the effect this may have on my family. I just wanted to see what the area was like as I had seen it in the film Gomorrah."

He said, "I just wanted to see what the area was like as I had seen it in the film Gomorrah"!!! You couldn't make this stuff up.

Roberto Mancini has told Mario Balotelli he must adapt to the rotation policy at Manchester City.

The 21-year-old has featured just once in the Premier League this season, watching on as Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero notched up 12 goals between them.

Balotelli is set to miss out again on Wednesday as City makes its Champions League bow at home to Napoli. The forward is suspended following his red card in City’s Europa League campaign last season, and Mancini has warned him he will not be figuring in every game.

"Mario will have to adapt to the situation, he will not be playing for the next few matches," Mancini told reporters. "I count myself very lucky to rely on four strikers, especially in a situation where the team needs to play every three days. I can have a good turnover of the strikers.”

Meanwhile, Mancini has backed former captain Carlos Tevez to rediscover the form which led him to be crowned leading goalscorer in the Premier League last season.

Came on as a sub and score the eventual winner for City over Everton:
http://www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/mario-balotelli-everton-15451032/

Said Mancini afterward: "Mario didn't start for three or four games but he has worked well, did not say anything and he was waiting for this moment. He scored an important goal and now it is important that he can continue. Mario is a good guy. Sometimes his behaviour has been so-so but he's a good guy. He likes Manchester City and he likes English football. He was really happy. Sometimes when he scores he is unhappy but he knew this was a very big goal for us."

Long live Super Mario!

You know one has become a legend too unbelievable to ever make up when they set fire to their own house by launching fireworks out of their window late at night and the public response isn't "Why would he do that?" but "Of course he did that." And that's the position Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli finds himself in now, with a charred house, some used up fireworks and an ever-growing list of odd feats that only he could compile by the age of 21 all because he seems to have gotten a little prematurely excited about this Sunday's big Manchester derby.

From the Guardian:

Two fire crews using breathing apparatus put out the flames after being called to Balotelli's house just before 1am on Saturday to deal with what has been described as "a substantial fire" on the first floor. The property, in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire, sustained serious fire and smoke damage and the police were also called — in part to ensure Balotelli did not go back into the house. The striker is said to have been reluctant to leave his belongings and, at one point, to have run back inside to recover a quantity of money and a suitcase.

Balotelli checked into a Manchester hotel and took part in training as normal at 10am. He has told club officials he and four friends were setting off fireworks through an open window. The bathroom towels set on fire and the blaze quickly spread. Balotelli has claimed that one of his friends had set off the firework. That, however, is unlikely to spare the player a reprimand from Mancini and a reminder that City's management staff would have expected him to be asleep at that time rather than exposing himself to the possibility of serious injury.

Really? Have they met Mario Balotelli? The man they fined for throwing darts out of a window (I'm noticing a trend here) at youth team players as a joke, the man who took his brother trespassing at a women's prison in Italy just because he wanted to see a prison, and the man who left training to take a kid back to school and confront the child's bully? Because everyone else's reaction seems to be "Well, it's about time. Mario's been a little quiet lately." And he has.

Teammate Nigel De Jong said that Balotelli has been "acting normal...for him" after he scored with a brilliant overhead kick last weekend. Manager Roberto Mancini said he had hope that Mario was "changing mentally," which shows how far he's come in the coach's eyes since he was yanked out of a preseason match against L.A. for attempting a goofy spinning backheel move.

Anyway, if Mario really is organizing the club's Christmas party, all guests might want to locate the nearest hospital before attending.

In response to Reply # 0

http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/blog/dirty-tackle/post/30-foot-Super-Mario-Balotelli-to-be-burned-on-Bo;_ylt=ArwYGVRUxE.ytDTILQh1MlgXwLYF?urn=sow-wp6267

Last year, a Shrekish Wayne Rooney became the first footballer to ever get a giant, fireworks-filled effigy in his honor for Guy Fawkes Night. This year, the only man it could've been, Mario Balotelli -- complete with Super Mario cap, diamond earrings, hand-held mansion, a giant bottle rocket and "Why always me?" shirt -- gets one of his own.

Balotelli was a late, yet unanimous pick for this year's effigy. But having a firework house fire and promoting fireworks safety days later made him an easy pick for the Edenbridge Bonfire Society.

From the Daily Mail:

Jon Mitchell, from Edenbridge Bonfire Society, said: 'We were all quite worried a few days ago because no celebrities had done anything quite silly enough to be celebrated on November 5.

'We thought about the politicians and the other usual suspects - but Super Mario earned a unanimous vote among the committee.'

The effigies are always done in good fun and Mitchell said that he's sure a man like Mario will see the humor in it. And it's even funnier when you realize that even after the 30-foot, fireworks-filled Balotelli has been set ablaze, it still won't be the most dangerous Mario Balotelli out there.

Don't know if anyone reads his weekly article, but this current premier league player gives an interesting perspective on professional football in Europe. This past week was about Super Mario.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/oct/28/the-secret-footballer-mario-balotelli

The Secret Footballer: misunderstood Mario is a much-loved maverick

The cult radio DJ Howard Stern once said that his fans tuned in for an average of an hour a day while those who despised the American shock-jock and his show (and there were many), listened for almost two and a half hours. The New York station WNBC enlisted a team of researchers to get to the bottom of this bizarre phenomenon. Almost every listener returned the same answer: "I want to see what he'll say next." Which reminds me of someone else.

Mario Balotelli may have as good a claim as any modern-day player to being the latest incarnation of the much‑misunderstood and similarly adored maverick footballer. Since his arrival in England last August, the Italian can cross off his own personal "to do" list: setting fire to his house (albeit with a little help from his friends), writing off a £70,000 car, throwing darts at Manchester City's youth-team players and defying club orders to attend the FA Cup parade.

His performances on the pitch are every bit as colourful. Fans have been treated to a petulant red card that all but cost City their European adventure last season, a bizarre pirouette in a pre‑season friendly in America (for which he was immediately substituted) and glimpses of the exceptional raw talent that persuaded City's management to shell out £22m.

In what may well be a flaw in my own make-up, I profess to have a huge weakness for what many commentators diplomatically refer to as "one of the game's characters". From George Best and Stan Bowles to Paolo Di Canio and Eric Cantona, players who are mutually respected among fans from various clubs usually have two things that stand out: a complete disregard for what anybody thinks of them and a natural gift for playing the game.

I've been fortunate enough to have played with a couple who belong in the same category. One of them made it easy for everyone who met him to never want to have anything to do with him again, such was the apparent arrogance of the man. But working on my principle of not prejudging before engaging in any worthwhile conversation, I eventually found him to be one of the most natural, funny and intelligent people I have ever known and, above all, completely misunderstood.

Even the local police warmed to him such was his standing at our club. On one occasion he had accumulated several driving offences seen by the same two officers over a short period of time, yet they never reported him. They would just escort him into training and, amazingly, pull the manager aside and tell him to have a word on their behalf. On a match day he was generally sublime.

Everyone learns to be tolerant of these individuals. A manager will soon recognise when to ask for more and when to ease off, as do fellow players. The seemingly special treatment "Paolo" received was always held against him until 5pm, by which time he might well have won us the game. For me, he will always be an inspiration as well as the player who stole my car keys to drive 200 miles home after being substituted at half-time because his car was blocked in.

Today that story brings a smile to my face – only "Paolo" could have pulled off a stunt like that – but there were also occasions when he had the capacity to infuriate me as well as others. Perhaps it was because he was foreign and was "handled" differently. Some of his antics were accepted, I'm sure, because our manager couldn't tell if certain aspects of his behaviour were in some way normal for people from "Paolo's" country.

The word on the football grapevine last season was that at Manchester City some of the English players felt that their foreign team-mates were getting cut more slack when it came to the way they were treated. Roberto Mancini, the City manager, has certainly been extremely patient with Balotelli in the face of some testing situations, equally Carlos Tevez prior to the Bayern Munich incident that would have pushed any manager over the edge.

Yet when Adam Johnson produced a man-of-the-match performance against Wolves on Wednesday night, four days after he had failed to even get on the bench at Old Trafford, Mancini chose to highlight a negative rather than applaud his response to being snubbed. "Adam has everything and it disappoints me when he plays every game and doesn't put everything on the pitch," Mancini said. "Tonight he played well but, for example, on the second goal that Wolves scored, he didn't follow his opponent."

Balotelli's problems have, at times, run much deeper than failing to track back but the Italian seems to escape censure from Mancini as long as the good outweighs the bad. His team‑mates will certainly be grateful for his presence on the pitch as long as he continues to perform like he did against Manchester United, and there won't be too many gripes with what he gets up to off the field if it deflects attention away from any of their own misdemeanours.

It is also worth noting that not everything Manchester's recently anointed fire-safety officer gets up to belongs on a crime sheet. Balotelli has become a lovable rogue because of the story that surfaced of him returning a young boy who was playing truant to his school and confronting his bullies on the pupil's behalf, and then there was the night when he came out of a casino and handed a homeless gentleman £1,000 in cash.

Whether Balotelli will go on to become one of Manchester City's great players is unclear; I couldn't even tell you if he will be at the club next year or volunteering in a soup kitchen instead, which is another of the striker's pastimes, apparently.

How can anybody second-guess a man who seems to thrive on spontaneity? But whatever he does, I will definitely be watching, because like everyone else, I'm desperate to see what he's going to do next.

THAT would've been phenomenal given the scoreline.

In response to Reply # 109

I mean, granted, other dudes might have pulled a more standard chest trap to bump the ball in, but the ball was falling to Balotelli so that he had to make some kind of play with his chest to kill the play off. any striker in the world is taking some kind of upper body touch in that position.

so, for me, the goal was fairly meh, it was just the Balotelli swagger that made it amazing.

did you peep his PK + stare down from a week or two prior? that was 10x more baller than this one to me, cuz his PK run up was OVER THE TOP, like more little fakes and feints than the most elaborate C. Ronaldo run-up, and he LITERALLY froze the goalie to the spot, the goalie didn't even react to Balotelli's shot he had so thoroughly gotten into the GK's head and defeated him before he even kicked the ball. then the stare down afterwards ... so yeah, that one was more impressive than the shoulder tap to me, even though it was just finishing a PK.

but yeah, they're probably just trying to hide the angle showing the piss running down the goalies leg lol.

he had subtle stutter steps, a couple of eye fakes in a stare down prior to the kick, and then his technique when he buried it masked his shot superbly, goalie was ROOTED to the spot as the ball flew past him, Balotelli just kept walking at him with his arms crossed staring him down. it was gangsta as hell, dude never disappoints.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/995689/mario-balotelli-facing-fine-for-breaking-man-city-curfew-

Controversial Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is facing an internal investigation and possible disciplinary action after breaching the club's late-night curfew ahead of Monday's Premier League match at Chelsea.

Mario Balotelli is no stranger to controversy
Balotelli was spotted in Manchester curry house Zouk in the early hours of Sunday morning despite club rules stating players must not be out socialising within 48 hours of a game.

The 21-year-old Italian, who was not drinking alcohol, signed autographs, posed for pictures with fellow diners and was involved in a mock sword-fight using rolling pins.

City boss Roberto Mancini is tolerant of his players socialising responsibly but the club have confirmed a curfew was in place ahead of the fixture at Stamford Bridge and the manager will ask Balotelli to explain his actions.

Balotelli has made headlines for a raft of unusual reasons since joining City, including causing a blaze by fireworks being let off in his bathroom; throwing darts at a youth team player last season; and driving into women's prison.

Despite his often bizarre behaviour off the pitch, he has show an increased maturity on it, scoring ten goals in all competitions. He is likely to be a substitute against Chelsea.

Part of a school in South Sudan named after Mario Balotelli

You might not expect children to be educated in a building with a wing named after Mario Balotelli, a 21-year-old footballer known for having his bathroom charred in a fireworks accident and scoring goals with his shoulder, but it is happening.

He's given wads of cash to homeless strangers and reportedly accompanied a child to school so he could confront a bully, so in a way, donating money to build a school is a natural progression in the good deeds of Mario Balotelli.

From Eurosport:

Kon Kelei, now 29, was forced into battle as a four-year-old by rebels of the Sudan's People Liberation Army, but he later escaped the conflict and became a refugee in Holland.

After graduating in law during his time in the Netherlands, he returned to South Sudan following their declaration of independence, after which a film documenting his life was produced, titled 'The Silent Army'.

Balotelli was so moved after watching the biopic that he made contact with Kelei and offered to help finance a project to build a secondary school.

The secondary school in Cuey Machar will now have a 'Mario Balotelli wing' in the Italian's honour.

According to Balotelli's official website, he donated his compensation from a testimonial match to Kelei's project. As much as we all joke about Mario's often surreal antics, he's already done more for others at just 21 years old than many people twice his age. It's probably just a matter of time before they build statues of him in town squares with the words "Why always me?" etched across his chest.

Meanwhile, it remains unclear what they will be teaching in the Mario Balotelli wing. But psychology, advanced hairstyling and remedial pyrotechnics would all be solid options.

In response to Reply # 0

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-dirty-tackle/mario-balotelli-makes-surprise-school-visit-bathroom-181357870.html

Since Mario Balotelli has already solved school bullying and taught kids about firework safety, there really is just one thing left for him to do in a place of learning: use the toilet. And according to the latest report on the Man City striker's perhaps fictional behavior, that's exactly what he did.

From the Manchester Evening News:

The eccentric Blues star turned up unannounced at the 1,800-pupil Xaverian College in Manchester around 1.30pm this afternoon.

Parking his white Bentley in the car park he strolled into the Rusholme college's canteen area to ask pupils where the toilets were.

After spending a penny he went into the staff room to speak to teachers.

Accompanied by three friends he then walked around the campus of the sixth form college followed by cheering Man City supporting students.

After staying for around 20 minutes Balotelli and his friends drove off — leaving amazed students frantically calling and texting their friends to tell them what happened.

Most grown men who show up at a school unannounced and hang out in the bathroom have the police called on them, but not Mario. After all, this is the same guy who drove right into an Italian women's prison without consequence, so clearly Mario is immune to normal legal standards.

Still, I'm increasingly convinced that Mario's whole life is an endless series of dares from a mysterious and brilliant puppet master friend of his.

Manchester City's Mario Balotelli's off-field antics inspire composer to write an opera about his life

Jan 21, 2012 3:51:00 PM
By John Stammers

Manchester City's eccentric striker Mario Balotelli has divided opinions with his off-field antics, but now his moments of madness or "gifts from heaven" as they have been described by composer and fan Patrick Knowles are being transformed into an opera.

Knowles is planning to compose a jazz opera based on Balotelli's life and believes that it has the potential to be a massive success as well as boosting people's opinion of the controversial Italian.

“By normal standards he’s crazy but people haven’t had his experience. He was abandoned by his birth parents," the composer told the Manchester Evening News.

“Now he does things like go to a casino with Chris Samba and hands some of his winnings to a tramp.

“You couldn’t write this kind of thing. It’s a gift from heaven.

"To put that to music would be amazing. It could be the biggest opera since Jerry Springer. It’s going to be enormous.

“I believe this guy is going to be the biggest thing since Cassius Clay.

“I don’t think there’s any bad blood in him. I’d hope to improve the image of Mario Balotelli."

Knowles, who has already composed a piece of music entitled 'Balotelli - Why Always Me' believes he can relate well to Balotelli, describing the Manchester City striker as "confused".

“I think I understand him better than most people because of our backgrounds and the way our brains are wired," he added.

“Creative people see something extraordinary in him that we can turn it into something real.

“I was born into a working class family and my dad died when I was five months old. I relate to him very well. I know what it’s like to have that.

“He’s confused – I’ve been there. He’s got a creative side.”

Balotelli has netted eight times in 14 games so far this season, but has frequently hit the headlines for his behaviour off the pitch. The latest report involving the Italian claimed he arrived at John Rylands Library on Deansgate and stunned staff by paying everyone's fines.

Other reports have ranged from the striker driving around Manchester dressed as Santa handing out money over Christmas to setting off fireworks in his Cheshire mansion causing a reported £400,000 worth of damage.

Italian model plans to sell virginity for 1m euros

An Italian model who swears she has never had sex plans to sell her virginity for one million euros, or £792,000.

Raffella Fico: Her family insist that despite her good looks and sexy image, she remains a virgin

By Nick Squires in Perugia

9:17PM BST 16 Sep 2008

Showgirl and men's magazine model Raffella Fico, 20, told an Italian magazine: "I can't wait to see who's going to pull out the money to have me."

Miss Fico, who appeared in the Italian version of Big Brother earlier this year, said she would use the cash to buy a house in Rome and pay for acting classes.

"I don't know what it's like to have sex," she told the magazine, Chi, adding that if the man who bought her virginity was ugly then she would quickly get over it.

"If I don't like him I'll just have a glass of wine and forget about it," said the aspiring actress from Naples - hometown of screen siren Sophia Loren.

Her family insisted that despite her good looks and sexy image, she remained a virgin.

"She's never had a boyfriend. I swear on my mother's grave. She's a devout Catholic and prays to Padre Pio every night," her brother told the magazine.

She is the not the first woman to auction her virginity for a large sum. An 18-year-old US student in San Diego, Natalie Dylan, recently told the Howard Stern show she would have sex for the first time for $1 million to pay her college fees.

In 2005 a Peruvian model, also 18, put herself up for sale to help pay her family's medical bills but ended up having second thoughts and turning down $1.5 million.

Mario Balotelli admits fling with Wayne Rooney's call girl Jenny Thompson
Mario Balotelli had a ‘brief involvement’ with a prostitute who had a threesome with Wayne Rooney, his agent has revealed.

The Manchester City striker has come clean over the fling with escort Jennifer Thompson after she allegedly began talks to sell her story to the press.
His agent Mino Raiola said the affair came after Balotelli, 21, was ‘pursued’ by Ms Thompson, 23.
Mr Raiola said in a statement confirming the tryst: ‘Mario is a young and impulsive football player and as such he is an easy target for tabloids looking for stories and people seeking to benefit from being associated with him.

‘Lately I feel that the chase has become more purposeful and women are targeting Mario, looking to make money from him directly or by selling stories to newspapers that relate to situations which they have intentionally pursued. It now seems that one of these women has succeeded and the newspapers have their story.’
The agent added Balotelli was ‘becoming aware of the modern practices operated by some newspapers’ and was determined to avoid ‘certain types of people’.
Ms Thompson, meanwhile, contacted Max Clifford’s PR company yesterday as talks over the sale of her latest story were ongoing.
‘She has been pursued by the tabloids over an alleged friendship with Balotelli and asked us to represent her,’ Mr Clifford said.
‘We represented her some time ago when she was linked to Wayne Rooney.’
Balotelli is in a long-term relationship with Italian model Raffaella Fico.
In February he celebrated a goal by revealing a T-shirt emblazoned with ‘Raffaella I love you’ in Italian.
Ms Thompson was working as an escort when she had an encounter with Rooney before England’s World Cup campaign in 2010 and while his wife, Coleen, was pregnant.

Man City's Balotelli escapes unhurt from car crash

MANCHESTER, England (AP) -- Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli escaped unhurt after being involved in a car crash on Thursday.

Police said officers responded to reports of a collision between two cars shortly after 3:15 p.m. in Manchester city center.

City said no one was injured in the incident and that Balotelli, who was driving a Bentley, was not at fault.

The 21-year-old Italy international has rarely been out of the headlines since arriving in England in 2010 from misdemeanors on and off the pitch.

Balotelli this week admitted to an affair with a woman who Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney repeatedly slept with while his wife was pregnant. Jennifer Thompson was working as an escort when she and another call girl were linked with Rooney in 2010.

"Mario is a young and impulsive football player and as such he is an easy target for tabloids looking for stories and people seeking to benefit from being associated with him,'' Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola said in a statement. "Lately I feel that the chase has become more purposeful and women, in particular, are targeting Mario looking to make money from him directly or by selling stories to newspapers that relate to situations which they have intentionally pursued.

"It now seems that one of these women has succeeded and the newspapers have their story. In this regard, we therefore wish to confirm that Mario has had a brief involvement with Miss Jennifer Thompson, a well-known figure amongst tabloid readers in England.''

Raiola said Balotelli will "deal with any consequences his actions bring.''

"Mario prefers to admit what has happened, has refused any means on offer to try to keep the matter silent,'' he said.

City manager Roberto Mancini complained on Thursday that Balotelli's conduct was blown out of all proportion.

"There are some people who think bad things against other people, like Mario,'' Mancini said. "Every time Mario does something, (it) is like a war.

"There are other people on and off the pitch that do worse than Mario and no one says anything because maybe they play for an important team or are not like Mario.''

Mancini does not blame the media, stressing it was "his fault because if he wants he can play and stay at home.''

Balotelli frustrated Mancini with his performance in last weekend's English Premier League match against Sunderland, despite scoring twice in the 3-3 draw.

Mancini said he considered substituting Balotelli after just five minutes. Balotelli later got involved in an argument with teammate Aleksandar Kolarov over who should take a free kick.

Mario Balotelli may have played last Manchester City game – Mancini
• Balotelli sent off against Arsenal and facing long suspension
• 'I'm very sorry for him because he continues to lose his talent'

Dominic Fifield at the Emirates Stadium
guardian.co.uk, Sunday 8 April 2012 15.45 EDT

Roberto Mancini suggested on Sunday night that Mario Balotelli has played his last game for Manchester City after their 1–0 defeat at Arsenal left his side eight points from the top of the Premier League and effectively curtailed the club's pursuit of a first league title in 44 years.

Balotelli was dismissed after receiving a second card yellow in stoppage time to incur a three-match suspension, having previously been sanctioned this season for a red card at Liverpool and a stamp on Tottenham Hotspur's Scott Parker that prompted a retrospective ban. Yet City are resigned to losing the 21-year-old for at least three further matches after a lunge high into Alex Song's shin apparently went unnoticed by the referee, Martin Atkinson.

The Football Association will await the referee's report to see whether mention is made of that first-half incident – no foul was awarded – though, with six games still to play, Mancini will not call again upon a player who has increasingly become a liability. "Mario should have been sent off after 20 minutes," said the City manager. "I've finished my words for him. I've finished. I love him as a guy, as a player. I know him. He's not a bad guy and is a fantastic player. But, at this moment, I'm very sorry for him because he continues to lose his talent, his quality.

"I hope, for him, he can understand that he's in a bad way for his future. And he can change his behaviour in the future. But I'm finished. We have six games left and he will not play. It's not sure he'll because he could get a three- or four-game ban. Now, I need to be sure that I have always 11 players on the pitch. With Mario, it's always a big risk. Every time we risk one being sent off, even if he can also score in the last minute."

Mancini admitted that José Mourinho's assessment of the striker as "unmanageable" may prove prophetic, with team-mates visibly frustrated as Balotelli's second foul on Bacary Sagna prompted the late red. City were quick to distance themselves from suggestions that there had been a physical confrontation between players in the dressing room after the game, but when asked whether he would now seek to sell a player who has scored 17 times this season, Mancini said: "Probably." He was reportedly more explicit on Italian television, saying: "We will sell him."

"I am disappointed in him," added Mancini. "He is young and he continues to make a lot of mistakes. I have punished him during the season – it's totally false that I have different behaviour with Mario than the other players – and he still needs to change his behaviour if he wants to improve. I've seen players with huge talent finish in two or three years because they do not change. I hope, for him, he will."

City's title challenge effectively fizzled out in defeat in front of the chairman, Khaldoon al-Mubarak, with Mancini's side having now mustered only one win in six away games. Yet the Italian insisted he remains the man to bring the title back to the club. "When I arrived, City were eighth," he said. "After six months, we were fighting for a Champions League place. Last year we were close to second and won the FA Cup and, today, we have 15 points more than this time last year.

"When you start a project it's important you improve, and we have. But we need more experience and to change something. We've only worked here for two years. Now the title is more difficult, but we have 18 points to play for and a derby at home. United have had an incredible run in the last two months. But, in football, it can change. Ten days ago we were one point behind. Today it's eight points. United have more experience than us, so probably it's difficult, but until it's impossible, we keep going."

Arsène Wenger, whose side have returned to third place, conceded that Manchester United are now likely to retain their title. "In France we say that when a horse smells its stable it's difficult to stop him," said the Arsenal manager. "It's not completely over but, eight points behind with six games to go, they can smell that stable."

He's in a very Tevez-like situation, only for a cheaper price: who in their right mind would sign him and pay his wage demands?

Answer: Malaga. Much like city, they are oil-rich but have less ambition to be able to lure players people actually want.

and, it's really the best role for him so he can't play himself out of the game or affect it irrevocably.

problem is, he's too damn talented to be a super sub, but it seems to suit his attention span.

in examples of a great game vs infuriating shitheadedness.

he is an undeniable talent, but his trainwreck down the stretch nearly cost city the title and it could be argued his absence put them back on track.

Actually Prandelli said this is what he would do like a year ago, but since then Cassano had his heart problem and Mario's continued getting in controversial situation (despite a great season overall).

Euro 2012: Mario Balotelli threatens to 'kill' banana-throwing fans

• I will not accept racism at all, says Italy striker
• Balotelli has been a past target, at home and abroad

Share 314

Marcus Christenson
The Guardian, Tuesday 29 May 2012

The Italy and Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has threatened to kill anyone who throws a banana at him in the street or on the pitch during the Euro 2012 finals in Poland and Ukraine.

His comments come a day after Sol Campbell, speaking on Panorama, told England fans not to travel to the competition because they could "end up coming back in a coffin".

Balotelli, who is preparing with the Italian team for their Group C fixtures, said: "I will not accept racism at all. It's unacceptable. If someone throws a banana at me in the street, I will go to jail, because I will kill them."

The 21-year-old is not a stranger to racism and was once pelted with bananas in a Rome bar before the European Under-21 Championships in June 2009. "It was lucky that the police arrived quickly because, I swear, I would have beaten them. I would have really destroyed them. I hope it never happens again." He has been the victim of racist abuse on several occasions – most recently in February when Porto were fined over the behaviour of their supporters in a Europa League tie against City.

"Let's see what happens at the Euros," he added. "I hope it will pass without a problem."

The Italian also described himself as a genius, saying: "I think I am a genius but not a rebel. I have my life, my world, I do what I want, without annoying anyone. I believe I am more intelligent than the average person. The talent God gave me is beautiful and wonderful but it is difficult because you are always facing other people keen to judge you."

I didn't gloat, but those tallies they got early in the season, of which he was a major part, made the difference...

to say he "brought them the title" is false, unless he's also called Yaya Toure. Did he play a bigger part to their title than Eden Dzeko, who both scored and created more goals than Mario? Would you say Eden Dzeko "brought Manchester City the title? Of course not.

In fact, you could argue that Mario had a hand in almost costing City the title with his performance at the Emirates.

All that said... I'm still a huge Mario fan and do believe he has the potential to be the best striker in the world. Nothing to even argue about. But it's almost akin to saying Jeremy Lin was the best PG in the NBA last season. You can appreciate the awesomeness that actually exists without stretching it into something it isn't.

son of an immigrant Ghanian mother, if I'm not mistaken, taken by the state under child welfare, given to an Italian family to raise, succeeds on athletic merit, yet still faces a barrage of hate from his own country because he's not "Italian," yet all the hate in the world can't stop him because he produces the goods.

it's like if OKP held a conference to design the perfect soccer player, Balotelli is who the committee would produce. I try to put every sports hating liberal I know up on him, because they can NEVER resist his charms.

and yeah, tap into some Euro news sources -- folks get MAAAAAAAD over Balotelli

cuz when Italian newspapers still feel comfortable publishing cartoons of Mario Balotelli on top of the Empire State a la King Kong as recently as YESTERDAY, I feel comfortable saying there's a "barrage" of hate in Italy:

_____________________________________________

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jun/27/gazzetta-cartoon-mario-balotelli-king-kong?newsfeed=true

Anti-racism campaigners have attacked a cartoon in an Italian newspaper depicting Manchester City's Italy striker Mario Balotelli as King Kong.

The drawing – published by Gazzetta dello Sport on the day of Italy's Euro 2012 meeting with England – shows Balotelli on top of Big Ben in a reference to King Kong on New York's Empire State Building. It led to a number of complaints from readers prompting the newspaper to apologise.

A spokesman for the anti-discrimination group Kick It Out said: "Mario's very presence in the Italian team is symbolic on so many levels. The Italian media ought to champion this individual rather than singling him out as a scapegoat and somehow inferior to his international team-mates."

A statement from Gazzetta read: "Some of our readers have protested regarding Marini's cartoon.

"Balotelli was depicted as King Kong. We can honestly say it was not among the best products of our talented cartoonist. At this time, a measure of prudence and good taste are necessary because everything, absolutely everything, can be misinterpreted.

"The newspaper is for those who read it and hence, if certain readers found the cartoon offensive, we apologise. But those who accuse Gazzetta (and poor Marini) of racism are going overboard.

"This newspaper has fought any form of racism in every stadium and has condemned the boos directed at Balotelli as an unacceptable form of incivility."

Balotelli, who has been a reported target of racist chants at Euro 2012, said at the start of the tournament in Poland and Ukraine that if he heard himself being racially abused he would consider walking off the pitch.

Tell that to the people yelling monkey chants at him when he was coming up in Italy...Or how about the Italian fans who claimed he wasn't a "true" Italian...And then he's being drawn as a monkey...By a newspaper in Italy just yesterday?

There certainly was a barrage of hate for that dude growing up...

There's a reason why he is always on edge....

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Football/Pix/pictures/2012/6/29/1340957573723/Mario-Balotelli-in-Tuttos-008.jpg

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jun/29/euro-2012-newspaper-mario-balotelli-slur

An Italian sports newspaper has defended its decision to print a headline featuring a pun on Mario Balotelli's skin colour after it came under fire from an anti-racism group.

Over a photo of Balotelli celebrating his second goal for Italy against Germany in the European Championship semi-final on Thursday night, the Turin daily Tuttosport ran the headline "Li Abbiamo Fatti Neri", which literally means "We have made them black".

The new row comes days after another Italian sports daily, La Gazzetta dello Sport, apologised for running a cartoon featuring Balotelli as King Kong. Balotelli, the first black Italian to make a major impression at national team level, suffered racist abuse during his time playing in Italy before moving to Manchester City.

The phrase used by Tuttosport in its headline is a slang expression meaning to bruise, literally to make someone black and blue. Gianni De Pace, the assistant editor, said it also referred to Balotelli's skin colour, but defended the headline. "It was a reference to him being black, but it is just a pun," he said. "It was also because when he took his shirt off he looked like a boxer who bruises opponents.

"There are three sporting newspapers in Italy and we have to make an impression with language which has an impact, but no one in Italy will have seen this as racist," he said.

De Pace said Tuttosport was not a racist publication. "When Juventus fans abused Balotelli we were very tough on them. We are proud to have Balotelli as an ambassador of multi-ethnicity in Italy."

But one anti-racism campaigner accused the paper of fuelling racism with its headline. "It is highly offensive, you cannot brush this off as a pun," said Robert Elliott, who works with Occhio Ai Media, an Italian organisation which monitors racism in the Italian press. "Drawing attention to the colour of Balotelli's skin dehumanises him and labels him as a black player before all else, even when he is proudly playing for Italy."

http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/premierleague/story/mario-balotelli-undergoes-successful-eye-surgery-manchester-city-striker-italy-090512

The 22-year-old underwent the minor operation, a day earlier than expected so as to avoid the paparazzi, after recently suffering from conjunctivitis associated with wearing contact lenses.

Balotelli's surgeon suggested he could return "in around 10 days'' meaning he would be touch-and-go to be back in time for City's trip to the Britannia Stadium on September 15.

"He had a few problems with contact lenses some years ago,'' surgeon Emanuele Scuri reportedly told Sky Sport Italia.

"We waited for the defect to stabilise over the last four years and this was the right time to have the operation. His eyes did not tolerate the contact lenses and had problems at the start of the season.

"I think in around 10 days he should be ready to play again. Already this morning he asked if he could drive and I suggested he should get a lift until Thursday.

"We brought the operation forward by a day to avoid paparazzi. This surgery will enable Balotelli to see very well."

City waited until the international break to book Balotelli in for the procedure, which has ruled him out of Italy's World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Malta.

Should Balotelli fail to return in time for the Stoke match he could be available when City open their Champions League campaign against Real Madrid three days later.

Mario Balotelli bound for Manchester City exit as Juventus and Milan close in

• Italian could complete permanent move in summer
• David Platt says he has heard nothing about a deal

Manchester City are in talks with Milan and Juventus over the transfer of Mario Balotelli and are exploring the option of loaning the striker out until the summer ahead of a permanent move.

The champions want around €23m (£19.75m) for the 22-year-old and it is understood that Milan have made an initial offer close to €20m. But last night Juventus also entered the bidding with City hoping their interest would help push up the price. The player is keen to return to his homeland and is willing to take what represents a small pay cut regarding the terms on offer, which are €5m a year tax-free, plus a sizeable signing-on bonus.

It is understood that City do not expect any resolution before Tuesday night's game with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road but a deal could be done before Thursday's transfer deadline. Mino Raiola, Balotelli's agent, is in Manchester to try and seal an agreement, having already failed earlier this month to persuade Ferran Soriano, City's chief executive, to allow the striker to move on a temporary basis to San Siro until the end of the season.

City are thought to favour a permanent transfer in the current window but a loan deal remains a possibility. Another potential stumbling block is Milan's desire to pay any fee in six instalments. City, conscious of Uefa's financial fair play regulations, may want a lump sum that can be reinvested swiftly. However, there is hope in both Milan and Turin that, given Balotelli's chequered time at City plus the player's desire to move, a deal can be completed before the window closes.

Adriano Galliani, Milan's vice-president, has been in consultation with Raiola regarding the best way to proceed. Two years ago Raiola was pivotal in the deal that took Zlatan Ibrahimovic, another of his players, from Barcelona to Milan.

If Balotelli were to leave, City would have only three recognised strikers – Carlos Tevez, Sergio Agüero and Edin Dzeko. Whether the club would try to replace Balotelli before Thursday's deadline is moot. It is thought, though, that City plan to play a 4-3-3 formation next season, a system that utilises only one centre-forward, meaning that three strikers for one position would be enough.

Asked on Monday about Balotelli's future, David Platt, City's assistant manager, chose his words carefully. "I haven't heard anything," he said. "I saw that speculation yesterday. It's a shame Robbie's not here. He might know more than me but he is still a Manchester City player. I don't think anything is going to happen."

He also claimed that Balotelli is in contention for Tuesday evening's match following illness. "Mario was back on the training pitch yesterday ," Platt said. "He was in the squad for the weekend , it was only a 24-hour virus he had so he'll be up for selection."

In reality Balotelli may have played his last game for the club. Last week it emerged that his Cheshire home, which the Italian rents, has been on the market since 11 January, a sign that he was conscious of the need to keep his options open before any potential move away from City. Reports on Monday suggested that Balotelli had a farewell party for friends in Manchester on Sunday night.

Balotelli's off-field misdemeanours during his time at City have included fireworks going off in the bathroom of his home, before last season's derby at Old Trafford, in which he scored twice in a 6-1 rout of Manchester United.

This season he has started only seven times in the Premier League, scoring once – in a 2-0 win at Wigan in November – and last month he came close to taking City to a tribunal after refusing to accept a two-week fine for the ill-discipline that meant he missed 11 games due to suspension last term.

The striker called off the tribunal only at the 11th hour and finally accepted the £340,000 fine but a fortnight later he was pictured grappling with Mancini on the training ground after the manager tried to censure him for a dangerous tackle on Scott Sinclair. This last episode finally convinced Mancini, who had become isolated in his support of Balotelli, that the striker's future lies elsewhere.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-dirty-tackle/man-united-fan-urinated-mario-balotelli-camouflage-bentley-040822869--sow.html

Mario Balotelli had to know that having his Bentley customized with a camouflage paint scheme would actually make it stand out even more than a Bentley already would, but I doubt he anticipated that it would attract public urinators. On Sunday night, as Balotelli dined in Manchester at an Indian restaurant with friends while rumors swirled of an impending transfer to Milan, a group of Man United fans found his distinctive car (parked on the sidewalk, of course) and had their way with it. One man urinated on the door, while another pulled down his pants, got on top of the car and rubbed his bare backside on the rear window. According to The Sun a witness said that one of them sang Man United songs as they did it.

But within hours of the pictures spreading across Twitter on Monday, the urinator was identified, reported to the Greater Manchester Police, mocked for the size of his genitalia by thousands of people around the world and deleted his account in disgrace. So I don't think Mario got the worst end of this prank. Plus the inside of that car has probably experienced far worse than what happened to the outside of it on Sunday night.

Between him, El Shaarawy, and Niang, we have three attackers with a lot of potential, two of whom have already shown a little bit. If Niang keeps progressing, I'm loving the possibilities.

Plus, with those three, Boateng and Robinho, Milan possesses some of the worst and most ridiculous hairstyles in Europe. Truly hideous, ridiculous, awesome shit.

Mario Balotelli scored twice, including a highly controversial penalty three minutes into stoppage time, in a memorable Milan debut to give them a 2-1 win over Udinese on Sunday, three days after completing his move from Manchester City.

The maverick Italian, who moved to Milan for a reported £20m after two and a half turbulent years in Manchester, was included in the starting line-up only at the last minute after Giampaolo Pazzini pulled out during the warm-up.

But the 22-year-old opened his account after 25 minutes at San Siro, turning the ball in from close range after Stephan El Shaaraway's cross from the left was deflected to his feet.

He nearly added another two minutes later with a dipping shot which was turned over by the bar by the Udinese goalkeeper Daniele Padelli.

Giampiero Pinzi equalised for Udinese in the 55th minute and the home defence suddenly began to look vulnerable.

However, Balotelli went close in the 85th minute with a low free-kick which Padelli turned round a post. The match then ended in uproar when Thomas Heurtaux tackled El Shaaraway, who fell theatrically in the area and the referee pointed to the spot.

Balotelli calmly converted to lift Milan to fourth in the table, ahead of Internazionale on goal difference.

The furious Udinese players surrounded the referee to protest after the penalty decision and police came on to the field to protect the official after the final whistle.
