"Heel Turn: Bron has one move. He gotta join The Young Legends"
Thu Jun-07-18 09:08 AM by Basaglia

I look at Houston and I don't see it. Paul on his way to Washedville.

Lakers not ready and him and PG not enough. BI would have to take a tremendous leap and I don't know if he ready. You talking about speeding up his natural progression by 2 years.

Philly always been a cyse because he renders bigs obselete. He wants his driving lanes and at least 3 guys spotting up. Ben spotting up? Joel?

Portland...LMAO.

Danny can overpay smart and send multiple lottery picks (19, 20, 21).

Bron get with Boston and he gonna seek out KD, Steph, Klay, Kerr and Draymond like they shot him in the head and left him for dead in a smalltown texas church on his wedding day.

Welcome back to Cleveland, Kyrie. Oh, you want to sit out your contract or threaten to get surgery again? Go for it, we're in tank mode.

1) Trade with Charlotte in a package to get Kemba and #11
2) Trade with Portland in a package to get CJ and some shit
3) Trade with OKC to get NyQuil in a Love and Dildo Baggins deal
4) they stick with #8 and ride with neo-NyQuil and shop the Dildo Bags

also, JR hopefully is part of one of those extended dildo packages.
Cavs are probably stuck with Clarkson. JR is closer to expiring than he is.

Hope in a LeBron-stays scenario, Hood stays. BIG TEEF RODD FUTURE with an offseason to actually do stuff can and will be an asset

It would be like dying and going to heaven to play for that coach in that kind of system with *that* kind of young talent around him. Perfect way to ride into the sunset of his career and he would actually have comparable talent to GSW (which means GSW would get destroyed).

Personally I'd love to see him reunite w/ his greatest teammate.

That said - it's unlikely - largely because the Bron-Boston rivalry is so heated and he's beaten them 5 straight times in the playoffs. Boston is bitter and I don't see them being welcome to the move.

there's no animosity in it.

but it'd mean horford or kyrie gets traded away and i'm not sure i like trading horford (he's such a perfect fit) and I feel bad for Kyrie in that situation.

reality is boston doesn't need LeBron. Obviously better to get him, but a fully healthy celtics can beat Philly + LeBron and he's not going to sign w/ Colangelo anyway.

Got Kyrie, won a chip. Kyrie bounces, apparently not liking being under Bron's shadow. Bron loses finals, goes running back to Kyrie?

Think he'd enjoy that narrative. Cause others are going to point it out.

Guess you gotta weigh blowing out GSW (which Boston with Bron would do undoubtedly) and adding chips vs. The Internet.

it wasn't about getting away from bron

it wasn't about being the man

kyrie wanted to be in a stable, PROFESSIONAL environment.

kyrie wanted to be coached, instead of being told to be a weapon and go get buckets when needed.

when asked about playing with bron again..."anything can happen"

bron would be the best player on the team, but the CELTICS are the star of the celtics. bron would joint the pantheon of greats, but he wouldn't be that central figure in the franchise's history. that's what kyrie objected to in cleveland. bron was worshipped there and they did ANYTHING he wanted.

they were all 27+, right?

brandon ingram can be an ALL-STAR next season, but i don't think he'll be ready for championship basketball at 21 years-old. few are.

making an All-Star team?

LeBron and KD averaged 20 out the box so its comical to even mention BI in the same breath as them lol.

Lebron and KD were in the Finals at 22.

all-star game gonna be tough in the west, but the 20ppg is a bet.

it's laughable to compare 99% of the league to them, so no reply there.

if it wasn't for bron - wade would never have won another ring - bosh would never be a champion (and prob wouldn't be in the HOF). Kyrie would never be a legend who hit one of the biggest shots in the game (because he never would've even been in that position to succeed) - and Love would never be a champion. He elevates guys around him. Shane Battier played the basketball of his life w/ Bron - Mike Miller hit 7 three's to seal the deal against OKC - JR Smith became a champion who played *huge* in game 7 vs GS in 2016 and Delly played his heart out and earned a big contract after shining under Bron's influence. None of this would've happened without LeBron's influence.

Yea - poor Love - he could've stayed in Minnesota and remained irrelevant - but scored a few more points! Sucks!

Boston's already on the verge of being the next long-term juggernaut, something special is taking place, bringing LeBron in would cheapen everything and stunt the future.

Any chips they won with him wouldn't feel like the Celtics won...it would be Lebron got his latest ring in a green shirt. It would be the Boston fans and Celtics team owe LeBron.

He'd never go down in history as a Celtic, and he'd most likely never identify as one.

All that success we're gonna have anyway would be thrown out the window, and the window would be much shorter.

Brad would lose his pull, and these young guns would be stunted. Bron would leave after a couple years, and the team would be a mess.

I mean, if he comes and wins rings- particularly if that's plural- there's no downside to that.

Personally, I just don't think it's wise to try to make that sort of leap right now. GS is a juggernaut and aren't showing signs of slowing down. No sense in trying to make the sort of leap it would take to even compete, let alone beat, them. Better to build the long game.

Let these kids cook, sign quality vets to short term deals, see what's what next year and try our hand with next years group of free agents, particularly when we may be able to trade Deng at a lower cost then what it would take right today.

But if Brawn came to the Lakers, brought whoever else with him, and won titles?

I'll take it.

We're talking about a franchise that has had Kareem, Magic (my fav Laker), Kobe, the logo, who else am I missing? Embarrassment of riches in rushmores, what's one more?

But if I was a Laker fan, I'd rather watch the youngins grow... although, one rare example of a youngster who might actually benefit from Lebron's temporary presence might be Lonzo.

He meets with Gilbert in the off-season and makes it clear he will NOT re-sign if Gilbert remains owner. LeBron then leaves.

A day later, Gilbert receives a couple unsolicited bids for the team, both for more than he could reasonably get for the team without LeBron on the roster. He reads between the lines and accepts the highest offer.

Bron announces he's staying. A week later, Gilbert announces he's selling. The next day, a banana boat is delivered to the shores of Lake Erie.

What other player in the history of the game has meant more for his state/region (Northeast Ohio) than LeBron does to Cleveland? He delivered the impossible - the most historic title in NBA history - and there'll be no jerseys being burned this time - only statues being commissioned outside of the Q.

and team configurations for Lebron to have while losing to the Warriors.

It don't matter.

The only difference is the varying degrees of him losing to the Warriors. Lose in 4 or 5. Maybe stretch to 6. Or if all works out well lose in 7.

The Warriors are simply not scared of him and better.

My only concern with Bron coming here is Father Time. Aside from that...let him come and cook.

I respect these takes, not just because I want to retain LeBron (I do)
but being a fan of a team undergoing the LeBron Experience.... if it don't get you titles, that shit is exhausting. for everyone.

your team will be blown up to win now.

LeBron's track record is close to impeccable (8 straight Finals, 2 of which I would have not imagined happening), regardless of the Finals record.

looking at the Cleveland teams (I emphasize them because they were ALWAYS stuck with a glaring flaw, even as "superteams") in particular, I really don't think 2014-15 team or 2017-18 team had any business in the Finals.

if you're the Lakers or Celtics, the Establishment of the NBA -- you can afford to be "cool" on high talent because of your history.

Also, LeBron is 33 going on 34.

so blowing your roster for at best 2-3 years of LeBron? both Lakers and Celtics have the right to say "nah" right now. even if Lakers (with cap room) manage to snag one of the coveted wing players in free agency.

I think it's even more problematic for the Lakers. I think Ingram is a hit. Ball (if he trends on "better Rondo") is a hit. Kuzma is also getting there. Randle, if he ain't dealt for space in Fagency Chase would be a guy you'd want on your roster. I'd aim for retaining the best out of the latest drafts, because cap space is gonna be high to score on the Kings of Quil very soon. Then the "Laker" brand will be very valuable IMO in trying to follow the recent string of luck that has befallen GS.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

it's cool, dude. even i think the sixers plus bron would only be a toss up with the celtics in the east next year. you shouldn't stress this much.

sounds crazy I know, but Jorn did and came back better than ever..

Meanwhile.. rest the body, perhaps fine tune his post game,etc.. and have teams salivate for his services upon return

But I know he's chasing Jorn so that aint happening

I'm sure he'd continue working out if he took time off, but I worry he'd lose some of his edge/upper limit ability by not playing at game intensity regularly.

He's probably better off just going back to strategically taking time off during the season.

I think he played 82 games this year because it was kind of a contract year... he showed the league he's nowhere near falling off.

But once he's settled into his next contract, he shouldn't play 82 games again.

Why would they trade valuable assets on rookie deals from a team that nearly made the Finals for a guy who's openly said he has his destination in mind?

Kyrie isn't a guarantee to resign either. That's the world we live in and they're just being realistic here. This is just smart business. Wouldn't them rushing to trade all their assets for potentially a 1-year rental be a greater sign of fear?

introducing a new (major) wrinkle to disrupt the strong wing-play from tatum/brown (and now hayward) is just not necessary when you were an inch away from the Finals without Irving & GH.

Boston has the talent - and most importantly - the organizational fortitude and competence - to compete w/ GSW as is.
