"Watch Joel Embiid While You Can"

I'm serious. Buy League Pass and DVR Sixer games this year, if that's what it's going to take. This isn't going to last long at all, so the basketball world needs to appreciate every healthy minute he plays.

the reason why those injuries are so tough to deal with is because the navicular bears a ton of weight and force in the arch of your foot so that injury is normally associated with a biomechanical pattern (heavy pronators...think flat fleet) x increased load (weight, repetition).

Not saying anymore because people got jobs and want to keep them, but I can confidently say that the Sixers should have known exactly how low the probability was that Embiid would have a normal length NFL career.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Didn't he have the same exact type of injury & still had a relatively long run in the NBA without any related injuries after he recovered from that?
Thus can we look at him as the proof in medical advance & maybe expect something closer to a 7+ year outta 'The Process' instead of the Bill Walton'esque short window of yester year?

Multiples times as per my understanding.

Embiid can certainly have a solid career, but this type of injury certainly indicates a high risk...the biggest difference between Z and Embiid is their playing styles as the latter is far more athletic which means greater force load. As we've seen with Yao and more recently with Marc Gasol (both with navicular fractures later in their careers), a low impact playing style can mitigate some of the risk.
