unless harbaugh was suiting up for this one I'm not sure how anyone realistically could've expected a different outcome.

i thought mich did some things well. i think they'll at least be able to handle the minnesota's and rutgers of the world this season.

problem for harbaugh is that andrew luck isn't walking through that door anytime soon.

the spread opened at utah -3 which was 100% due to the harbaugh effect. should've been a 7-9 point spread.

it was HOKE-A-MANIA! back then. sugar bowls, wins against OSU, top 5 recruiting classes, etc. a blindingly bright future was ahead.

let's not rewrite history. nobody was claiming that mich was a poorly coached outfit from the start.

his barely .500 resume spoke for himself.

he capitalized on our year in purgatory and was able to steal a few Kalis/Dymonte Thomases (lol , hard to beleive Pat Elflein(sp) was a consolation prize)

they lost to mich state & someone else and barely beat one of the worst TOSU teams of all time

eveen that sugar bowl win was ugly & full of struggle

reality set in for michigan fans the following year.

as shitty as Ruddock played last night I'm still saying to myself throughout the game...'man this kid is really an upgrade!'

5-star sugar shane might be the most embarrassing recruiting miss of all time.

He absolutely needed a redshirt and he absolutely needed a better coach than al borges.

He might be just inherently bad, but Devin Gardner's career arc showed that he was a good QB that the coaches ruined. Who knows what 3 years of Harbaugh would have done for Morris?

But yeah, as of today he is probably useless.

if sugar shane was coachable he wouldn't be sitting on the sidelines right now. and the program wouldn't have needed a grad transfer reject from Iowa to replace him.

at least Gardner had measurable.

most could see that guy was something of a time bomb anyway.

aaron corp got injured and lost his job to matt barkley. mustain backed up top 5 pick Sanchez. i would say theres a difference between that and proving to be a total liability on the field and eventually losing your job to an Iowa grad transfer. if ruddock continues this pace I'm sure shane will see the field at some point so we can revisit his growth or lack thereof at that time.

not familiar enough with the other 2.

Really could not have started the Harbaugh era in better
fashion, save for getting that punt off against MSU or being
more competitive against OSU.

Oh and gunning for that #1 recruiting spot for 2016.

Why would Michigan choose to end their series with a game at ND when it started with a game at ND?

UM would have at least gotten that home game if it were their call

we pretty much redshirted the entire 2015 class (arguably the best in the country). they'll be ready by The Game.

also this time JT gets a full spring & fall practice 100% without looking over his shoulder

I think we lose early to Oklahoma and maybe Wisconsin (Madison has always been tough sledding for us)

Anything more than 2 losses will be disappointing.

i wouldn't bet on a drastic drop off in talent though.

will be more compete for the B1G talent/experience combo vs compete for the natty at least from the start. MSU obviously can't reload like that just yet so the OL/DL/QB departure will probably hurt them a little more.

Iowa and Wisky will be in the mix.. Hopefully by 2017/18 we'll starting the reload model.
