cousins is running down court and dunleavy jumps in front of him and hip checks his knees. imo, dunleavy got too low for that to be normal rebounding position.

i guess it's a close call...but the "maybe i did" warrants an elbow.

This went from a semi assessment of how far we've really progressed to a we betta not lose this game. Only Utah looks like a guaranteed L among the the 4 fighting for the bottom 3 spots in the west.

And our recent games have been pointing out a big weakness in Thibs' coaching.

As I see it, the rest of the season can go either two ways:

A) Rose comes back. Let's say he returns to 80% himself by the playoffs. That at least makes the spacing better and gives guys like Deng and Boozer open shots. Our offense is better and we remain strong defensively. If we're playing well offensively, only two teams in the East scare me: the Heat and the Pacers. Anyone else I think we can beat in a 7 game series.

B) Rose sits out the rest of the season, highlighting the weakness of our roster as it's currently constructed. Bulls embarrassingly lose in the first round.

Either way this team needs to be blown up in the offseason. Trades have to be made and a legit second scoring option has to be found. Reinsdorf needs to spend big or we'll lose Rose and have to rebuild (again) while knowing our owner is fine with not being a contender because he can still rake in money.

you're right, our defense has been horrible lately too. and if we can't give one of the best defensive efforts in the league every night we have no chance to win whatsoever.

i think injuries definitely play a factor. our offensive facilitator is out and one of our best defenders is out. some might say that the team is distracted by 'the return'. others that thibs overworks our best players leaving them tired later in the season. but those are all shitty excuses. there's no reason the bulls should be playing as bad as they are.

giving up 93 points in 3 quarters to the 4th worst team in the league, without their best player, is inexcusable.

they better get it together. going into april playing your worst basketball of the season is not a good look.

He had some arm numbness the other week, that sure hasn't slowed his shooting clip.

The NBA said the foul should have been called because Bryant was not given "the opportunity to land cleanly back on the floor."

The NBA�s judgment on the play wouldn�t satisfy Lakers fans or Bryant, who had said that referees and, in an indirect way, the league, "really need to protect shooters."

Bryant sustained a severely sprained left ankle on the play after coming down on Jones' foot. He will be out indefinitely, according to the Lakers.

If Bryant had been able to make the two free throws, or if a Lakers player replacing him at the line was similarly successful, the game would have been tied at 94-94 with the Hawks facing about three seconds to win in regulation.

Instead, the Lakers fouled Kyle Korver with 2.6 seconds left and he made both free throws.

The referees in the game were Monty McCutchen, Pat Fraher and Tony Brown.

Actually an argument can be made for flagrant 2.

its a dirty and dangerous play that is done with intent. Obviously, it can happen unintentionally as well, but there really is no reason for the league to not adopt this stance. Its something that defenders need to pay particular attention to, and the league should want this b.c not only will it help to prevent injury, it gives the shooter a better look at his shot and thereby will increase scoring to some degree.
