So let's recap: JC Jackson played 4 seasons with New England, going from a UDFA to one of the better corners in the league. He got paid. The Chargers gave him 82.5 million for 5 years. His time in Los Angeles did not go well. So much so, that the Chargers GM apologized to the cornerbacks group after he was gone...saying the signing was a "swing and a miss". A miss, alright. He was missing the 38.5 million that he paid Jackson for appearing in 7 games over 2 seasons. LA trades him to New England along with a 7th-round pick and gets back a 6th. Back in NE, he comes off the bench the first game and starts the next three...one of those where he was beat like a drum against the Dolphins. The following week, he's demoted to the bench...but, not because of play. According to the team, he showed up late to the team hotel on Saturday. Now, they've told the dude to stay home when they travel to Germany to play the Colts. A team that NEEDS corners told a full-grown defensive back don't even come onto the same continent as us. Life comes at you fast.

Yo this regional tv coverage is crazy. I'm in Northern VA and they not showing the Ravens Browns. Steelers Packers on cbs and Niners Jaguars on fox. And Washington plays at 4:00. This DC Baltimore issue a thing in football, too?

..Cleveland likely has one of the best defenses in the league. I'm sure their numbers would look even better had Chubb remained healthy.
I doubt Watson ever reaches 100% this season. They're gonna need a lot more from him and the offense if they're serious about a deep run in the playoffs.

That second half, he was a perfect 14/14 passing and essentially sealed it for the Browns on a 2nd and 19. His best game with the team, absent the Pick 6.

cuz, they're defense is doing the thing...the thing where every level is liable to do something that can change the game. From the dline to the backers to the secondary. When I saw that pop up pick 6, I was like yeah....they on it.

better linebacker/secondary play, and their key D-Lineman (Garrett) is generational IMO. plus they added more dawgs on that line.
only thing holding them back is offense. which has been hamstrung by QB health, O-Line health, and the loss of Nick Fucking Chubb (also a generational RB). somehow they're figuring it out.
but as long as Quattro stays intact and he has the opportunity to acclimate to these conditions.... all he has to do is be better than PJ Walker for the Bees to win
they would rather be 3-6 with some fantasy stats and style points.
winning ugly and this is without Minkah and now both starting ILB's are out for the season.

Jets D is legit tho. They put up a graphic of their D vs Mahomes, Hurts, Allen and Herbert, and they wreaked havoc. Herbert was the only one without a bunch of turnovers but only had something like 130 yards. Thought they were a good test for our rookie
Wilson is such a strange player because there are brief flashes when he makes plays and looks really good. He'll always follow that up with missing his guy by 10 yards for no reason. Hes pretty terrible overall
as for the Raiders, this was a good slump buster, though *all* 5 wins have come against bad teams, and now they have to play a bunch of real ones. But by different I don't mean they're suddenly really good, but they're lighter and far less miserable, and it's not just because of the wins

I want them to fix it so bad. Cuz them being bad with a high-profile QB isn't a good thing.
But the turnovers are really still happening half a decade into this 'run'. The bad decisions. The pressing. The skill dudes taking turns screwing the pooch. All of that stuff..none of it is good. And I'm not sure 'fire the coach' fixes it.

was about to come in here and say that last night was the closest to "vintage Russ" that we've seen in 2 or 3 seasons.
and overall, he's played PRETTY well this year, the Broncos just aren't that good of a team as a whole for whatever reason, but it does look like they are trending in the right direction now.
the question of Russ remains though because even if he's playing on the plus side of things, it doesn't feel like there's enough gas in the tank their where you'd wanna build around him, UNLESS you can build an ELITE defense where all Russ has to be is a good game manager, because you CAN win with those kind of team.

Not saying this in a glib way... and I'm a Broncos fan so I am rooting for him generally, but, uh, is "good" Russ even a top 10 QB at this point? The Steelers are the most bullshit winning team ever, this year reminds me of them going 11-0 with washed Ben. They are NOT as good as the 49ers are at all.
the rookie already had his baptism by fire. Time for the team to prepare him. The defense will be ready.
Browns will be in the playoffs, but they will not go deep now without Quattro. Chiefs and Dolphins are breathing easier now.
