9. "i thought the TD to Lockett was gonna get tipped away." In response to Reply # 7 Fri Oct-23-15 12:39 AM by PROMO
it was kind of lucky because Russ ERRONEOUSLY put so much air under it that it kinda dropped straight down which seemed to keep it out of the reach of the DB (even though he still got a few fingers on it).
some media people in the stadium said Kearse stopped running on that bad pick - doesn't change the fact that it was double coverage and Baldwin was WIIIIIIIIIIIDE open on the deep underneath route where it woulda only been 30 yards but he could have ran for another 20 if not a TD.
on the pick in the endzone, the throw was just so late. if Russ throws Baldwin open that's TD w/ no one w/in 10 yards. then, when he did throw it, Lockette was ACTUALLY wide open down the middle.
i guess that's Russ' real weaknesses. he misses open WRs (maybe cuz of his height, i dunno) and he's a bit of a reactionary passer - he's not like Brady or Rodgers (not that many people are) who throw their WRs open.
also, he ran into 2 sacks tonight - another one of my beefs w/ him of late.
