"Knicks vs Celtics game 1"

Check out this doc rivers ether for guinny

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/celtics-star-garnett-melo-trash-talk-article-1.1322041

“They’ve just played better as a team, to simplify their improvement,” Rivers added. “Woody (Mike Woodson) has done an amazing job to get them to buy into their roles ... and they play the right way, they really do. They move the ball, they’re unselfish. And I think Carmelo leads the charge in that. A lot of people get on him for taking a lot of shots. But he should. He’s better than the other guys. And I’ve always said that.

“Yet, what else he’s doing is making the correct passes at the correct times,” Rivers continued. “He’s also moving now without the ball. I think it’s made them better. And then on the other end, they’re far better. They’re a better defensive team, they’re tougher and the last biggest change is they have a lot of veterans now. I didn’t think we’d ever say this, but they have more veterans than us.”

Melo unselfish and playing the right way? Check
Melo should take a lot of shots? Check
Knicks a better defensive team? Check

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Talking bout how we gonna miss pablo....c'mon.

If this goes beyond 5 i'm gonna be highly annoyed.

And if we struggle wit bos i have a hard time seeing us beating indiana.

If chandler really is 100%, we should beat bos easily

Boston is built for short playoff series where defense and execution matter. As long as they have the current roster they'll always be a tough out in the playoffs.

Indiana has size and should beat us on the glass...Boston doesn't and shouldn't.

Indiana can punish us down low especially if we run melo at the 4. We can run a big or small lineup against Boston and our guards like jr and shump can handle pierce if pierce plays the 2. The prigioni injury might be a blessing in disguise cause pierce woulda murdered him or Felton down low.

The top 3 pt shooting teams are all playoff teams. Its part of the nba formula. Unless you got dominant post players...which most teams dont.

Even if we're off from 3, i can live with it bc we dont tun the ball over.

And the win streak aint got nothing to do with us beating boston. We are a much better team then them. This series shouldnt be close.

I'm excited and nervous and mostly terrified Piere is gonna average like 85 points a game this series all on step backs.

But someone also posted this in the comments section of a Knicks blog today and I feel slightly better, maybe.

But Boston is just so disciplined on defense, you usally cant beat one guy and get a walk to the rim. There will be help.

Theyll need a good 2nd half from JR

knicks average 29 threes, but have taken only 10 so far. and no shots for chandler, the NBA's most efficient scorer. they're content with letting melo, jr and felton try to beat them in isolations. super smart.

both boston and chicago really mash up the lane with help defenders. with copeland, shump, jr and melo out there looking to score, there's not enough side-to-side ball movement. outside of the transition/scramble threes, the knicks aren't getting good looks.

so you don't think the celtics focusing on shutting down the PNR and chandler diving to the basket was the reason the knicks' offense was COMPLETE GARBAGE? the celtics' dream situation is melo isos.

he's been the most efficient scorer in the NBA for three years straight. if what he was doing was easy, he wouldn't be so much better than everyone else at it. i'm not sure why there's this continuing effort to diminish what he does because he's not a creative, one-on-one player.

the celtics' entire defensive strategy was to shut down the PNR, keep chandler from scoring at his ridiculous efficiency, limit three point attempts and let melo/jr/felton try to beat them (63 points on 61 shots). if boston's offense wasn't one of the worst in the NBA, it would have worked.

unless melo is hot, their offense isn't going to be good without kidd on the floor (or prigioni). they can't space the floor with shump in there nearly as well.

but mostly because you score by getting the ball.

as you aptly pointed out, melo passed THREE TIMES in the first half, which was when chandler's minutes mostly came. if you're not seeing that chandler's lack of touches was one of the reasons the knicks struggled, then you're a crazy person. him going 0-0 didn't hurt them or help them, other than that they usually get ten points a game on better efficiency than, oh, let's see...anyone in the entire NBA.

knicks fans are so gross. slagging off the second-best center in the league--one playing with a bulging disk injury--just to big up a selfish chucker with no self-awareness.

Just pointing out his obvious limitations, because you say so much dumb shit in trying to prop him up only at the expense of Melo(he fuck your girl at Cuse or something?)

Chandler just magically got "more efficient" when he played with two of the best scorers in the league the last 3 years, huh? His efficiency has nothing to do with Dirk/Melo?

A guy who scores on put backs and pnr's got shut down in a game where they ran pnr and shot alot of jumpers.

For an efficient guy, chandler gets shut down a whole lot....but that helps his efficeincy numbers lmao.

kmart looked pretty good yesterday btw.

knicks offense consists of either smith/melo isos for most of the shot clock and then kick out broken plays at the end of the shot clock.

don't know what boston is doing. they need to go to green more instead of letting pp dominate the ball. studio thug hasn't done shit all game. they're getting killed on the defensive boards too.

Gotta love Melo sometimes. His game is like a dude on Madden who only runs like fives plays on offense, but they work well enough for him to win more than you think he should. Aka he makes jackass heavily-guarded, horribly set-up shots..regularly.

Haha...JR Smith hustlin! Sooo riiiiight!

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

And I see Copeland was nervous. We gotta ease him into playing playoff basketball.

super impressive shut-down of the NBA's 24th best defense missing its best player. and surely more telling than two whole seasons worth of games.

Remember what happened last time Kidd had to play extended minutes
He'll always play smart, but he old and will start being ineffective on offense if he has too play too much

We need him back for rotation purposes and even though Felton played good, as far as running the offense he was too indecisive too often. Too many plays started with 6-8 seconds left on the clock

Knicks yo
Cowboys yo

Knicks v. Celtics Game 1

So hyped for this series.

Hyped to see Paul Gargamel Pierce walk off the court with a sad face for multiple games in a row.

Hyped to see bandwagon Knick fans suddenly rocking Knick gear next week on the train.

Hyped to see Mike Woodson’s goatee get furrier and furrier.

Hyped to see J.R. Smith give me heart attack after heart attack with every possession.

Hyped to see if Avery Bradley’s line up will actually get so skinny that it will become invisible

Hyped to see Felt Felt play with a chip on his shoulder.

Hyped to see K. Mart take me back to his days in Cincy with this sick interior defense.

Hyped to see K.G clap his hands after some fake thug moment and then get T-d up.

Hyped to see Novak not leave the bench unless he plays D

Hyped to watch Melo pass the ball only once a game but still kill it.

Hyped to see bandwagon Knick fans suddenly rocking Knick paraphanalia on the train next week.

Hyped to see old man Kidd’s magic hands come up with at least 4 timely steals a game.

I’m tooooooooooooo hyped.
