Poverty
eats all of me
taunting me with a new gadget
haunting me like an old casket
Every penny earned
is burned
by food
bills and fees

Nothing in this world

Hell, it's barely earned.
when the interest for doing nothing makes a rich man.
they play with numbers to scratch their itched tan

Freedom is dominated by a spectrum of greed;
forced by the hands that hoard all the seeds.

They see all the things that we're not allowed to believe
Like the hypocrisy in thinking we're actually FREE
When the meaning of not being under the control or in the power of another;
doesn't apply to a credit record or a loan officer.

When our wishes are cornered by the limits of income
some of us find ways to become undone
Living in a world where you can't even reach
a living wage, is the pulpit i preach

Whoever they are, did a knock up job on the stage
they preach and rant and speculate and praise
and we revere them like a sage
playing into the hands of their decisions
cause we're hoodwinked, and it's always a given

i'm down
so low don't know how far it goes.

the comfort creator
the deal maker

When you need
toothpaste and cat food
electricity and water
and a place to sleep paid by the ever loving dollar.
