When I go back home
I see James still walking to the store
Over time I've seen many pull up in front of his door
All his friends emptied out their drawers
But if you go back home
You can still see James walking to the store

Life blows the leaves differently
And one isn't less than
If it blows a different direction from me
It's just hard to take ease at 23
But who knows
Maybe one of these days
I will get a taste
Of trudging through engulfing mud
and having it splash back in my face

I shouldn't judge
When I see James still walking to the store
To this day I see many pull up in front of his door
All of us done left and emptied out our drawers
