tan skin
like mine
eyes wide, smile wider
traces of black in now fleece silver grains of hair
proof of thought
and spent time in square and oval offices
in the house white
pleading
meandering
meeting haters halfway
in hopes of the next plateau
of overstanding, at very least

blame game in full swing, and now on a 4/5 syncopation
fingers pointed himward
for lack of more recognizable targets
I pray for my guy everyday, sometimes every other
when it gets crazy
not JUST because he looks like me
but 'cause dammnit I voted for him
and I think he can flip this bad
into God good

given ears and dollars
we're losing
across the board, and across color lines
folks will picket and march
but won't say good morning

how dare we be suprised
at today's disregard
when nobody gave two fucks on yesterday
when signs and flags surrounded

now our children believe only what is seen
never mind history's books
or even self awareness
now OUR kids get in tubs
like Whitney
douse themselves with flammables
and light they own match

ridding the world
of themselves
and seek to share these new methods
of ethnic self-cleansing
with equally unsure and unaware

Somebody said strong voice. True! Well-written!

But I disagree. Ain't nothin'changed. Going from Tweedledumb to Tweedledee is not a change.

The only good president was Abraham Lincoln.

We need a third party. It's time to throw Tweedledumb & Tweedledee in the garbage.

Well-written poem, however. I have to give credit where credit is due.

Maybe it's just my inner kid, I loved the fact that my president looked like me, and talked like me, can't deny that sh*t is effed up all around though, but you REALLY can't put it ALL at the Oval Office door, these things and issues have gained alot of steam since Clinton.
