"No Sleeping During Storms"

Who's upstairs
Beating the clouds like bongos
Cracking the air
On the snare
Whose sweat is dripping down on me
Whose sound is turning up on me
Who rock shocked my power pole down
Who left me in the dark
To find myself in the
Universe's heart
Asking us
To come out of the slums
Come out of the slumber
Wake up People
Says the thunder

I love this poem, especially the following lines, for several reasons:

"Who left me in the dark
To find myself in the
Universe's heart
Asking us
To come out of the slums
Come out of the slumber
Wake up People
Says the thunder"

1) I am a drummer, and I'm digging not just the imagery but the sounds I hear from this.

2) I love thunderstorms, so I am accessing the emotions that I get when it's raining like that, and they are cozy.

3) My other reasons (1 & 2) where more about form. But this third reason is about the content. I can't explain how this makes me feel, but it's kind of like I feel the need to shout "AMEN" but also I feel you are holding out your hand.

4) The universe does have a heart, and it is the totality of OUR hearts....
