It's time for us to stop blaming the "white man" for our problems.
We was snatched from our mother's womb & brought to a unfamiliar place
where we bleed & shed tears because we yearned for our mothers touch.
Our men was beaten & weaken.
Their manhood was taken because they couldn't protect us.
Families was separated.
Babies crying for the love of their parents but couldn't get it because
they was no where to be found.

I am the hope and dream of a slave.

MY PEOPLE! MY PEOPLE!
It's time for us to stop blaming the white man for our problems.
See we had a voice but it wasn't heard.
So instead of using a silver bullet, we fought with our minds.
We fought by marching to the mountain top & commanding that WE as a
race be treated equally.
See our ancestors fought to make sure that those who came after them had the opportunities that they didn't get handed freely.
The bruises on their feet, the ropes that are hugged so tightly around
their necks should be a sign to take advantage of our education.
The advantage to vote.
But today we are so blinded that we lost sight in what we was given.
Our babies are walking around quoting the words of explicit language of "nigga this" "bitch that" but can't quote words of our Civil Rights mothers & fathers.
Our babies are walking around think that there is no road to success only for those who are truly blessed.
Our black men are no longer protecting their families but instead plant a see in a woman and love......excuse me love what's between her legs but when her perfectly soft lips say "I'm a few days late" they flee like birds. Never seen or heard from again.
Our black women are walking around here thinking there's nothing more to them but their hips & thighs and that the only way up is to lay on your back.
But I'm here to say, young men pull your pants up! Stop listening to these fools & be the men that your families need for you to be.
Stop disrespecting our black women.
They are the ones carrying your future.
Walk with your head held high.
Stop being simple minded and open your eyes!
We depend on you.
You're much more than a ball player or hood nigga.
You are doctors, lawyers. You are African Kings.
And my beautiful sistahs. Your body is a temple.
Protect your jewels. You are much more than your flesh.
You are African Queens.
Let a man make love to your mind instead of whats between your legs.
Know your worth.
If a man can't see that then fuck him.

It's time for us to wake up. Time for us to realize that we ARE the hope and dream of a slave.
We are the change that the world needs.
The white man is no longer our killer.
Our killer no longer have blue eyes.
Our killer no longer have blonde hair.
Our killer's flesh is darker.
Their hair is blacker.
Their eyes are brown.
We no longer have to worry about the white man killing us.........
because it's our own that's killing us.
