"...they look native american (poem by ekodan, appalachian zen poet)"

my family is black and white
but in the spring, when I'm drunk on kombuchas
they look native American
... it still counts! - ekodan

even snow has a warm dream

they never lose their form...
tiny crystals sing
scary and cold
but my hearts mind
makes them soft (warm dreams)

- ekodan

certainty

haiku spiral
so many moments
like rice-leaves
my father tosses
while yarrow inside tree branches
form the faces of happy ancestors

- ekodan (the ancients are the certain ones)

no one saw it but me

a beautiful poem
falls like an egg from a nest
as I put it back
guiltily I wonder 'will I receive credit?'

- ekodan

the hearth- luck

morning cold
futile complaints
the coming fog,
gaia lives

- ekodan
