Daddy when I’m 6… You’re still 5 Relax… Enjoy that… cause lord knows When it’s over it’s over When it’s on it’s on Daddy when I’m 7… Wait now… I said enjoy 5… Cause soon it’s stealing time Sneaking out Awkward advances The stress of sexual encounters, pimples and girls Nauseating nervousness of likes and dislikes put-downs, hell-no’s and are-you-crazys Best friend laughter at your expense Best friend pressures to hit blocks and corners Like Lamborghini’s With new drivers Wakes before their time Tears before the joy And I ain’t even talking high school yet Daddy when I’m 8 it’ll… Slow down… Eat bubble-gum and mess up Mommies carpet Drop your ice cream cone As you do Usain Bolt dashes to back porches With us sippin lemonade Remembering womb departures, centimeter growth spurts And that knee-slide crawl thing you used to do Time flies like kites and kids superhero imaginations

I've been told ... sometimes ... those with kids have a tendency to Un-conscionusly rush them to grow up ... (Like hurry up and walk /hurry up and talk /hurry up and get potty trained /hurry up and .... yadda yadda) ... before you know it, they're all independent and don't "need" you anymore! --
Sounds like a wise daddy (YOU ARE) not to rush lil' man to grow up too quickly.

He literally graduates Pre-K tomorrow morning. He's always trying to "get bigger". And I remember wanting to grow up fast. Then... I did. Now, as an adult I understand how precious and SHORT that time really is. So I want him to enjoy it.

thanks for keeping these boards fresh congratulations. parenting is the greatest gift and challenge off n runnin the sky is no longer the limit there are galaxies ahead be informed, kids have smart boards and devices with high streaming information at kindergarten be there watching taking part supporting most all listening for what they have to tell us!
