my claws sink in,
too many cats been drinking,
not enough thinking,
spliffs they inhale,
i exhale soot and breathless tales,
the death rattle clatters when i battle,
my pupils grow thin,
mind plays tricks ever now,
n then,
but when death rattles,
ima round your corner like a local dealer,
talk like i know you,
but its about merchandise and the paper,
moonlight illuminates me,
creating a shadow,
continuous sounds that get near when i walk around,
this city,
the atmosphere,
the air far from clear,
my posture off balance like the stench of fear,
but when sunlight arises,
so does young minds,
and they neglect the voice of the death rattle.
