Oppenheimer is going to be Best Picture and Nolan will be Best Director; while I would be happy for Gerwig for Adapted Screenplay (how many people could have written an actual movie for Barbie?), there's a lot of typical Oscar bait in that category too.

I think Randolph has a stranglehold on that. She's won that award everywhere to date.
But Barbie will absolutely win Best Song and Best Costume Design, I think it has a very good shot at Best Production Design, and I honestly think it has a good shot at Screenplay too-- especially now that people will be pissed about the lack of Gerwig director nom, I think it'll rally the troops. Poor Things is probably the big competitor there, given that I think Screenplay is probably Poor Things's best chance at a win.
Kinda lowkey think Gosling has not-terrible odds at the upset, too, if voters that wanted to reward Robbie for Actress are hellbent on giving Barbie a major category win.
And hey, if it doesn't win a major category Oscar, at least everyone who got snubbed got filthy rich. Nice little consolation prize, lol.

... if Ken wins the only major award and Barbie doesn't even get nominated. We'd know which of the movie's two worlds this academy is from. Gosling should ride a horse up onto the stage.

She definitely wouldn't have beaten Lily Gladstone, and I personally think Carey Mulligan is really the runner-up. But I definitely respected Robbie's performance in a very unconventional role (and a richer role than it appears to be).
