I love the chemistry between Colleen Wing and Misty Knight, and the Iron Fist cameo in Luke Cage wasn't as horrible as it could have been, but I can't fuck with this show anymore if they keep the same showrunner from season 1.

He left to do Inhumans. And we all saw how that turned out.

Anyways, they got the dude who did Black Panther's fight choreography to do this season's and the leaked Comic-Con footage shows.

I still like Daredevil’s fight scenes the most. Seeing all of Danny’s blocks and parries are super boring compared to DD fighting to knock niggas out. I’m sure that’s the point, but DD is still more enjoyable.

I dig them all... their differences and their crossover options.. I still want to see a show based on Turk.

I want Turk showing up in EVERY show. I LOVE that character, and the cat playing him (Rob Morgan) is PERFECT and nailing every little scene he has. I love him popping up out of nowhere (when he does my reaction is always the same: "TURK!! with a big ass grin on my face.

and yeah, at some point it would indeed be cool to get more into Turk Barret's whole life, i still truly like the regular yet random Turk 'pop-ups' in all of the shows. makes it fun. But yeah i would totally go for an occasional deep dive multi-episode run of Turk focused stories.

Both actors play pretty well off of each other and the action sequences with the two of them get you hyped. If these shows continue and they have anymore crossover I'm praying every Cage/Rand team up is backed by a Wu track.

The best story arcs of the Netflix/Marvel shows came strong with their themes.

To me Daredevil S1 was Kingpin's rise to power, how a man wants to protect a town (projection of his mother) so much that he willingly becomes its greatest villain.

Jessica Jones S1 is a look at different forms of abuse women have felt in various relationships.

The Punisher showed the deep cut of PTSD.

Luke Cage 1 & 2 together gives kind of a alternate image of Daredevil S1, where the indestructible hero realizes he can't TKO a crime ring, he can only keep his home safe by turning into the sort of crime lord he first set out to stop.

Iron Fist was about...what now? I didn't really get a strong theme at all. Plus we got worse fight choreography than everyone expected.

Looks like they finally listening about the length of these shits.

Sure the fights are better, Alice Eve as Typhoid Mary is excellent, this proved that Misty needs her own show. Ward was a compelling character this time out as well.

But yikes the writing is bad. In Luke Cage Season 2 Danny was confident and sure of himself. Here he's full of self-doubt and always wanting to talk to Davos. Fuck was Davos annoying.

Speaking of annoying, Joy is a character I was praying would die.

Shit man even the score wasn't as good as the first season. The songs were cheesy and corny.

This easily could've been 6 to 8 episodes.

Oh and the ending is directly from the comics, but it doesn't get me excited for Season 3.

At least I had Jessica Henwick to look at, but yeesh. While Luke Cage Season 2 was a vast improvement over season one. This is still a bad show where the quality slightly improved.

I can't recommend this to anyone b.

I will say that Typhoid Mary was ALMOST, but not quite, a scene-stealing character similar to and on par with The Punisher. Actually her story arc was kind of similar to the Punisher's in Daredevil season 2, which kind of detracts from it.

The music was terrible.

Really now that I think of it the main story of the season seems like they tried to take the elements that 'worked' from the other series and Frankenstein's monster them into this show.

Joy was not good as the villain. Her character changed completely from the first season. And then changed AGAIN halfway through this season. And Davos...his switch to psychopath was sudden and dumb.

One of the very few redeeming qualities about the show was that Davos was kind of right at first. Danny was an outsider that showed up in Kun-lun, trained with everyone else, beat the man who thought he was destined to protect the land as the Iron Fist, became the Iron Fist himself and then abandoned Kun-lun to go be a billionaire in the West. I mean, Danny didn't deserve to be the Iron Fist, and the consequences showed it. That was a great conflict right there. But then they fuck it up by making the power of the Iron Fist similar to holding the One Right in LOTR.

I wish Colleen becoming the Iron Fist meant that they were phasing Finn Jones out of the show. A show of just Colleen Wing, Misty Knight and maybe Typhoid Mary would be much, MUCH more entertaining.

*spoilers*

Son, Danny giving up the fist to Colleen was for selfish reasons on his part.

Dude never really bothered me unitl the back half of this season and a few episodes of the Defenders.

And you can tell the new showrunner is Uber white cause Danny goes from listening to classic hip-hop to the blandest, whitest, acustic rock on vinyl. And to have that shit a couple of times during montages SMH.

Danny gives away the power of the Iron Fist. Okay. But then suddenly in Japan he has it back, and with both fists now, and somehow he can use the power to supercharge guns or some shit?

And wait, didn't he hate guns in season 1? I thought he was all like "my fist is the only weapon I need."

I guess they'll explain it all in season 3, but that was some garbage.

So the dude their looking for/stole from is an Iron Fist.

Orson Randall wore what Danny has on in that final scene. And the pistols are what Orson uses as well.

In the comics, he shows up at Rand to help Danny out and explain the legacy of the Iron Fist. In a nutshell. It was a great story arc and I guess that's what they're doing for next season (that's why the pirate lady is mentioned), but I don't trust these niggas to pull it off.

danny is still annoying.

i agree that colleen would be better and no need for danny. doubt they would completely phase him out but hopefully hes more of a feature on s2.

I thought the tone they struck with him in Luke Cage season 2 was PERFECT.

We got a calmer, wiser more introspective Danny. Which is what he should have been in the first place. I mean you grow up in a mystical Kung-Fu city that exists in another dimension, you don't come out the douchknuckle that Danny was in season 1.

Season 2, they basically still undid all of that. He's still not that confident in his abilities, I thought him having to have Colleen train him was a step backwards. Either you're a kung fu badass or you're not.

And I guess he's not. Really liked Misty in this season. The lady playing Typhoid Mary really brought it, but damn, they really need to fold the franchise up after the third season. Kinda pissed they waited until the last 10 minutes of the season to make it interesting.

I'm willing to see where they go with this Immortal Weapons thing, but only for a season.

Do IF season 3, Luke Cage season 3, then merge it all into Heroes for Hire. Make it a semi-anthology series. Some weeks, Luke and Danny have an adventure, some weeks, Colleen & Misty do. Have Jessica drop by for some super powered slap n tickle with Luke every once in a while and call it a day.

I mean it's great that they're giving the female roles more punch and importance to the story.

But Danny's skills were supposed to be on some next level shit. In season 2 not only is he not next level, but apparently just about anyone is good enough to be the Immortal Iron Fist, and Danny himself needs training from an ex-henchman of the Hand.

What was so special about his training in Kun-Lun? Apparently nothing.

just feels like y'all are (again) going a bit overboard with the criticisms at this point. this season was a VAST improvement. that was a tight 10 hours. the story was great, fight scenes amazeballs, character development out the wazoo + multiple game-changing moments to completely up-end the premise of the show.
honestly, Finn Jones is the weakest link. he doesn't really have the acting chops to pull off the lead character, and his lines are delivered in an awkward n unconvincing manner. all of which i think can be justified by reminding us he's still that petulant little child that crashed and grew up in K'un-Lun. which i think has been the entire point of s2: Danny never grew up & 'found himself'. he just channeled his whole being into achieving the goal of attaining IF status, but never stopped to think if that's what he even wants to be. i think the stilted portrayal of Rand is done on purpose to highlight this fact. but again, Finn kinda only half delivers.
however the rest of the show was lit.
Davos was a compelling anti-hero and legit scary.
Mary/Walker was badass.
Misty continues to shine and should start popping up in all the shows and take Clare's place as the connective tissue for the Netflixverse (other than the obligatory Turk appearance). doesn't hurt that she's drop dead gorgeous.
Colleen's development has been pretty awesome, and her slow-revealed connections to the legend of the IF justified her taking up the mantle.
Ward took steps to becoming less of an asshole, and partnering up with Danny to go on some kinda Indiana Jones adventure was a great move. helps develop the growing buddy-cop chemistry they had this season.
Joy was probs the only one who i thought they kinda screwed the pooch on. her reasoning and motivations were a bit meh.

overall an entertaining season in general & a HUGE step in the right direction. has me lookin forward for more. i spose i'll see all the negative nancy's in the season 3 post next year too...?

... I liked that Danny was really on some "what do I do next?" steeze.... He's goal oriented, and after getting IF, he leaves KL to reclaim his life outside of it.... Then he does that, but isn't really sure what he's supposed to do know and suffers from knowing he didn't do what he was supposed to do in the first place and the home he was supposed to protect got destroyed mainly cause he didn't stay.... He can't figure it out, and it makes perfect sense to me.... Everyone has a version of Fanny they want to step up, but he still doesn't know who he really is....

... Anyway, I thought Joy's motivations were so ridiculously short sighted and just plain dumb... I didn't want zWard to go with Danny, but I didn't hate how he was in the end.... I wanted him, like Danny, to figure what HR really wanted and stay in town to take care of his new family....

.... My biggest gripe is that it's still the most soapy of the Netflix Marvel (and they're all kinda soapy), and SOMEBODY destroyed Kun Lun, and nobody seems to be interested in figuring out who....

..the writing for season 2 of Iron Fist was an improvement, even if its still a bit lacking. At times, the storytelling can be a bit 'paint by numbers'-ish.

The choreography is getting better.

PLENTY of eye candy for everyone. Once again, Marvel is on point with Casting. Alice Eve has never been better.

The show has it flaws (pacing can be a bit erratic, score's a bit boring, etc.), but overall its solid for the target demographic.

if the netflix marvel was as well ran as the movies they would had planned intro seasons for the characters and just built to a single show that used all the characters. not exactly defenders but maybe the focus shifts between characters. like each season maybe is focused on two or three characters. maybe a cameo here and there from the rest.

kind of like season 4 of AOS where there were multiple parts of the season.

Misty had a metal arm she never used to kick ass. She hits Mary with a metal arm right cross and doesn’t even knock her down. TF?

Danny is still a vanilla wafer in shoes

Colleen didn’t get much character development and it felt like even the writers didn’t give a shit about that subplot with her mom. She doesn’t want to train him. Then she trains him. She doesn’t want the ___ then she decides she wants it after this kid who she barely knew got stabbed. She said she didn’t want to use her sword then she picks it up again with no fanfare.

Mary was okay, but she sucked as a sniper. Should have one shot killed Davis as soon as he walked through that door. And she beat up Danny? FOH

Best part is the decision to give Colleen ____
