the last Robin Hood and King Arthur films flopped and no one talks about them. You can throw Peter Pan into this category too.

I don't know why 'the metrics' don't matter here. It seems obvious to me that these aren't worth it right now.

Studios would rather try to launch a franchise with a name people recognize than with a property that’s original or no one has heard of.

Not saying that approach *works*, of course. But financiers are way more comfortable with the next Robin Hood than with the next original franchise.

I'll usually watch any Robin Hood flick. I own the Costner and Crowe versions but i doubt i'll even watch this. Maybe on tv one day
