"Poll question: Best season of Marvel Netflix so far."
Sat Mar-17-18 08:28 AM by bwood

We've all said ad nauseum that the first seasons of The Punisher, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil are the best Marvel Netflix has to offer.

I wanna know what's your favorite out of the three seasons?

I'm really pulling for Scott Lightfoot to deliver on Punisher season 2.

Poll result (22 votes)
Daredevil Season 1 (4 votes)Vote
Jessica Jones Season 1 (5 votes)Vote
The Punisher Season 1 (9 votes)Vote
None (1 votes)Vote
Other (3 votes)Vote

all have Luke Cage as the best? i haven't watched it though, but this post has me reconsidering watching daredevil. Maybe superhero stories work better for me in comic or movie formats, because I got bored by both Jessica Jones and Punisher, i couldnt make it through

I didn't watch Luke Cage, Punisher, Iron Fist or Defenders. I really enjoyed most of Daredevil S1 but found the Foggy character insufferable (even more than I did in the first season) and fell off after three or four episodes of S2. I'd like to go back to it, I like Charlie Cox a lot, but the rest of the trappings of that show just kind of lost it for me without the come up story and D'Onofrio's fun ticks.

If Legion were lumped into this poll, I might've gone that way because that series had higher lows than JJ did, but I just thought thematically the Jones show was doing something you'd never have expected something rooted in comic books to approach and handle smartly even a five years before it aired.

Easily.

Punisher is up there though.

The first half of Luke Cage is cool, JJ is just aight.

They had no clue what to do with IF, and Defenders was terrible.

I want to rank Luke Cage higher but as most people will agree, the show just lost steam after it switched villains.

Aside from the fact that the show switched villains (Cottonmouth is arguably the GOAT MCU villain so far), I never could buy that all of these people in Harlem would be cool with Luke Cage. The showrunners seem to want Luke Cage to be seen as the man in Harlem but there's a level of authenticity that's just not there. Hopefully it gets better but I doubt it.

That was my worry about the character from his introduction in Jessica Jones season 1. Dude is devoid of charisma and swagger. I didn't see how he could carry a whole show.

He warmed up on me, but still, he's a little lacking to be the heart and soul of Harlem.

And to be honest, there's a small part of his character in Jessica Jones that is totally missing from his own show. It's in the scene where JJ gets into a fight at Cage's bar. She starts breaking tables and throwing folks out windows and whatnot, and you see Cage with this look on his face like "Woman, the fuck is wrong with you?!?"

He wasn't so much irritated by the fight as he was about his property getting damaged.

For some reason, that was funny to me. It's a small, amusing nuance that you almost never see in action shows/movies. But they didn't touch on it at all with his own show.

I'ma try to grind through it in the next week or two and report back.

I'm hopeful, but so far even the best reviews say that it's a step down from the first season.

>RE: Am I the only one who'd enjoy more Turk story lines?>

i forgot to mention that in the other thread reviewing JJ season 2....one of the highlights for me was seeing Turk. Everytime he comes on the screen in any series he pops up in i find myself yelling out loud "TURRRRk!!!" and grinning until his scene is over....dude is killing i as Turk, and yeah i said the same thing...that he'd be a great character to do a bunch of those little one-shots that they use to do on BluRays (why did they stop? That's probably a good way to get a few more people to pick up a blu-ray if (instead of just waiting to stream) if they knew there were gonna be a few exclusive to blu-ray only one shots)...

but yeah...Turks always good. Kudos to the actor playing him too...Rob Morgan. Dude is NAILING it!!!
