I just caught up today, can see why there is no post I guess. This is just boring at this point. At least season 7 started off with a strong episode. Time to kill off some major characters again but instead we will get a couple side characters nobody cares about.
This war with the saviors I feel gonna last at least half the season...

I'm not someone who got caught up in all the TWD bashing that took place after Season 1. There have been ups and downs, with mostly ups IMO. But at this point, I'm looking at this show like, "Why?".
It's getting old to see Rick make a move against Negan, only for him to get the upper hand every time. Then Rick, with his back against the wall, to promise he's going to kill Negan. Lather, rinse, repeat.
You're right, they need to kill some major characters and move this narrative forward. Every season is them meeting up against an "evil" group that they have to defeat and expectedly, they eventually win.

A lot of people I know who are/were fans are all like "Oh the new season started already? Hmph."
Even though for the most part I'm enjoying Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan (although Jon Hamm would have been better), the show isn't too compelling anymore.
I read the comics so I know essentially how the war is going to end, and what comes next, but I don't really care that much.
Plus they killed off just about all the characters that I liked. Sasha was the last.

I guess my tolerance is way higher with comics than with shows.
I don't like how Negan changed in the comics. Hope they don't follow the same route with the show. And then most recently another major character was killed off in a pretty stupid way.
There are a few things here and there that I don't dig as well, but for the most part the books are okay.

last season really did it for me. It was finally on an upswing until the bullshit cliff hanger and the horrible season to follow. Right now this is in Sons of Anarchy territory. Ive spent all this time on this ridiculous pile of shit so I'll watch it and complain about every second of it.

There is a ton of unnecessary things that has gone on with this show that gets passed off as character development when it's really not at all. The comic can do way less yet have way more character development. Makes it feel like it drags for ad revenue by making the seasons so damn long and useless crap happening to keep up their episode count.
Still love the comic, but the show went from must see on Sunday nights to I'll catch it when I'm not doing anything else.

Wow I just really don't care much about this show anymore.
The whole war with the Saviors is just dull. I didn't even care when Negan shows up.
I think the only way to redeem itself is if the war plays out entirely different from the comics, and if somehow the threat of the actual zombies comes back in to play. Cause it seems like zombies are just kind of incidental to the show right now.

Seeing how the show will differ from the comics is pretty much the only reason I still watch the show. With the show being such a cash cow for AMC, I have to imagine the show runners are totally motivated into milking the story for as long as they can, which somewhat explains why the show consistently meanders into nothingness in the middle of the season. What stinks so far this season is that the initial batch of episodes have been stale, when in recent years, at least the first two or three episodes have some level of excitement to them.
In regards to the zombies being a threat, that doesn't truly bother me since in the comics, the main sources of drama has been how the survivors try to cope with the adverse situation they are in, the zombies are a backdrop, especially as the story lines progress.

I'm enjoying the show... It's interesting that some folks are saying that this season is boring...the first four episodes this season have been pretty action oriented, especially in comparison to the prior season. I suppose the real question here is if people "don't like" TWD anymore, why continue to watch it? Everybody complaining on this thread is STILL watching this show, LOL. I'm just sayin'...
All that being said, Season 6 was my favorite, top to bottom (despite the finale cliffhanger). A big part of what hurt Season 7 was the pacing and "bottle episodes" (I don't think that anyone wanted to see a Tara/Heath stand alone episode at that point). Thus far, I'm intrigued to see where Season 8 is going, despite the repetitive nature of the show.

I mean it's okay to be critical of a show that you've been watching for several seasons.
I still feel invested enough in the show to keep watching. It's just I don't really dig this season so far. I only think that most of the better characters were killed off. And I don't really care much about the war with Negan.
It's cool if you still like it. Some of us just think that the show is running out of steam.

To be fair, I can definitely understand people not liking the current story arc if they don't like Negan and the conflict that he brought to the table. Fan YouTube reactions to Glenn and Abe's deaths were pretty intense. I wonder how some viewers may feel if Negan doesn't die on the TV show this season...which is a STRONG possibility.

and there are very few people in here compared to prior seasons. I don't think many did stick around and some of us are just watching since we are invested at this point. Its not the worst show in the world but its kind of at a low point in the series again. The series has had ups and downs throughout tho.

I actually had to rewatch the ending to the mid-season finale because the first time it went by I was so half-invested that it didn't really register. Then I watched again and was like "Oh...hmph."
It's a huge departure from the comics, but I still don't care that much. Maybe if Negan had bashed ______ (no spoiler) to death, it might have been more impressive.
I'm not quite done with the show, but I'm not at all excited about it anymore.

for a moment thats the directions I thought it was going to go. It would have had more impact.

I checked out around mid-season finale. Heard a lot of fan outrage over what happened, might just find out and not worry about spoilers cuz I doubt I will care to continue.

I watched the show mainly out of routine but seeing as how the show managed to ruin the Negan character, I'm going to take a clean break. AMC is so fortunate nothing else truly worth watching is on at the same time.
It is good to read that the ratings for this season have been suffering, which is surprising since the ratings have been high in the past, despite the low quality of the show.

I've only watched two episodes after the mid season finale.
I guess I'll try to finish it just because when I don't have anything else to do. At this point its no where near as good as the comics and the pacing is horrible. Reboot the whole thing by killing a ton of folks off and have them get back to basics and that's surviving.
Too many people weighing the show down now, time to start fresh again.
