Psych Revival: USA Network Orders Holiday Reunion Movie — First Look

USA Network is reviving its late, great private eye dramedy Psych via a two-hour holiday movie — and all the usual suspects will be back. Psych: The Movie — which is slated to air in December — will find James Roday‘s Shawn and Dulé Hill‘s Gus reteaming three years after the show’s 2014 series finale.
Joining Roday and Hill in Psych: The Movie will be franchise vets Timothy Omundson (Lassiter), Maggie Lawson (Juliet), Corbin Bernsen (Henry) and Kirsten Nelson (Chief Vick). Additional casting will be announced in the coming months.
Here’s the official logline: “The ambitious friends — along with some returning fan-favorite characters — come together during the holidays after a mystery assailant targets one of their own. A comedic thrill ride follows, as the wild and unpredictable Psych team pursues the bad guys, justice …and food!”
Roday co-wrote the the revival with Psych creator Steve Franks.
“Psych is a beloved part of our USA family, and what better time to reunite with family than the holidays.” said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, in a statement. “Steve and James have taken the unique brand of comedy that the series honed over eight seasons and packed it in to a two-hour movie that successfully rekindles one of the greatest bro-mances in television history.” ---

to see that cast after all these years. James Roday and Dule Hill have impeccable chemistry together. I'm not even a big fan of musicals, but I definitely plan on dedicated the time to watch this.
I hope Ed Lover somehow makes a cameo on this special.

It's been a while since I've watched the show (I think the series was yanked from Netflix if I'm not mistaken, at least the US brand of Netflix), but I seem to remember the show using Shawn's 'talents' at detective work a bit more than the movie did last night. Given the long lay off, the movie was pretty good. Roday and Hill still have great chemistry together.
It did appear that Roday was sporting a bit of a gut last night.

a few weeks before filming? which is why he doesn't appear in this one much. but says he'll be more involved in the follow-ups if/when they happen (Franks and Roday have at least another five stand-alone movies planned). damn. hope he's ok.

dude doin like 5mins straight worth of acrobatics without actually attacking Shawn and Gus was killin me lol. the Gremlins theme headquarters. "Glenn" (aka "Ted"). Woody. Lassie with the inspirational cameo. i missed the Psych fam.

The show is now available on Amazon Prime. Well, all the episodes outside of the recent musical are available for free through Prime, just to be clear. I'm watching High Top Fade Out as I type this out, and more lord does the humor from the show still hold up. Figure I've give folks the good news since the show was taken off Netflix recently if I'm not mistaken.
