Opens in limited release on June 20th. Opens wide on July 14th, one week after Spider-man, up against War for the Planet of the Apes, and then Dunkirk, Girls Night, and Valerian the following week. Very good chance it gets lost there.
Wish they went with August or even the last week of July which is just Atomic Blonde, The Emoji Movie, and An Inconvenient Sequel. Hell, the shit has been done since Sundance, why not open it either of the last two weeks or March/April?

I've known so many of these type of immigrant cats from college and on who were breaking their necks to get with white women and distance themselves from their immigrant routes (e.eg.,that Indian kid who changes his name from Bishr to Bobby), so I did find it kind of interesting to hear that perspective. But it just seems that there is a bit of self-loathing attached to it.
I guess what was hard because it seemed like there was the need to put down pakistani women to make his point out the white woman he fell for.
And I am not sure what his point about the white woman was. It just seemed so arbitrary. What exactly was it about these white women that he was falling over to get with that made them better than the Pakistani Women other than they were not Pakistani women? Which is a decent story to tell but it wasn't addressed.

Some people don't have to be attracted to women of their culture or race. I'm personally not attracted to Filipino women, especially the ones born there. Remindse too much like I'm dating a family member. And why is it not okay to poke fun our own cultural stereotypes and not be attracted to them? Lol It doesn't make me hate my people or culture I'm just not attracted to it. I love my people but I'm just not attracted to someone with the same accent as my mom. It's not a hot accent, not even on the hottest Filipino woman u could show me. We have a hilarious accent and it's fun to mock with my family. Grow up, I can mock something, love it, and not be attracted to it while still loving what it stands for and it's traditions. I hate when mofos try to tell others what to be attracted to.
