Has anyone checked this out or plans on it?

I'm trying to see it this weekend.

Reviews seem pretty solid

I wanted more clips of Baldwin, but it was extremely well done and didn't pull any punches. It establishes Baldwin in his proper context as part of the Civil Rights movement.

I agree with the comments above that I wish there were more clips of Baldwin.

All of the connections it drew through the course of this country's with race were pretty chilling even though it's nothing new.

Two little things:
1.) How about the days on talk shows like the "Dick Cavitt" clips where they actually talked about real shit?

2.) I knew it was Sam Jack

Thought this was excellent, but as far as 2016 documentaries by talented black filmmakers that use potent archival footage to both underline the country's history of glaring racial inequities and draw parallels between mid-20th century and the present day, I may have narrowly preferred 13TH even if it's a little more "conventional" in structure and presentation.

This is a fucking awesome testament to Baldwin, though. He's electric. I could easily watch a few more volumes of documentaries just like this one that use basically just his words.

Some of my favorite parts of I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO were Baldwin waxing poetic about the underlying racial politics of classic era Hollywood films. Insightful and fascinating.
