I was FINE with everything in season one, and thought it was perfectly entertaining, pulpy TV, but that shit they pulled with the reporter to start that season was too much. I don't care who you are you're not getting away with that.
actually, I think I watched that whole season, I'm recalling one of the weirdo brothers from Always Sunny playing a prominent role now that I think back on it more, but I recall basically hatewatching the season after that moment hoping it'd redeem itself.
I can not believe this show is starting its fifth season; it's almost like HBO keeping Arli$$ going for so long just because it helped get them where they wanted to be.

I also think that it's tough to evaluate some of the stuff that happened during this season. Because I continually would tell myself "this is really unrealistic", but every time I would immediately remind myself that Trump is happening in real life. So I don't know if this season was more far-fetched than prior seasons or if my ability to suspend disbelief has just changed.
I'm especially trying to determine if the twist during the last episode made any sense at all. Maybe I need to go back and rewatch. There should be clues along the way that Underwood was manipulating everything, and if there aren't then the twist just seems like they tacked it on when trying to figure out how to end the season. It really seems stupid of him though - because he left ALL the power in Claire's hands. If she doesn't end up pardoning him, he ends up in prison with no power at all. And even if she does pardon him, its up to her what he can and can't do.
The one possible thing I'm thinking could make sense is if Usher and Underwood are working together to control Claire. Usher is keeping Tom's body on ice so he can have leverage over Claire - we saw that when he essentially threatened her about his being VP. He also TOLD Frank Underwood about the body being on ice, which means he trusts Frank to not use it against him be telling Claire. So maybe Frank and Usher have been planning this all along. But how would they know that she would kill Tom and leave the body at his house?

Usher has shown a few times that he has Frank's back although i'm not really sure why. I bet they either are or continue to work together behind the scenes

Durant falling. Claire murdering Tom. Frank handing clues to the Herald and surprise resigning. All the Stamper stuff. Even with as much suspension of disbelief as the audience is asked to do, none of this makes sense any way you slice it. This show is absurd.
