"Patriots Day (Peter Berg, 2016)"

Really surprised how good this was considering that Deepwater Horizon was blah. Really effective filmmaking on display with one of the best shootouts I've seen in a long time.

Really surprised this wasn't exploitive.

Great Trent Reznor score BTW.

coincidentally, i watched friday night lights for the first time ever recently and was pretty blown away. i don't watch a lot of sports movies and had sort of assumed this would be generic and feelgood like a lot of cheesy sports movies, but it was far from that. it made me psyched to see patriots day and a little sad i missed deepwater horizon.

i bet. that's a perfect match if it has a similar tone and execution as friday night lights, which i imagine it would given the subject matter.

would expect it to get a nod for editing. the juxtaposition with real surveillance footage was so well done.

basically, you're ALWAYS on camera somewhere in public.
