anyone watching this?

i dvr'd the first ep and just watched it. it is every bit as weird and funny as i would have hoped for a show based upon a character of the late (late as in the late dent, arthur dent) douglas adams.

I saw the BBC pilot with Stephen Mangan as Dirk Gently in 2010 - I think that turned into a 3 or 4 episode run in 2012.

This looks like a different production -

Do I dare say that it's better than the original BBC show ( Which was pretty good too)?
They already picked up a second season.Really like this one the Brit show was closer to the books tho.

It's very different from the American version. It's more eccentric and has less supernatural elements. It has more in common with BBC's Sherlock Holmes than the BBC America one as it revolves aroung Dirk Gently and his (partner?) MacDuff.

had all the episodes of shows. i'm not used to having cable box but my family does. so no illegal watching required

I've seen the first four episodes so far and plan to watch the rest the this weekend. I also plan to get the book for this as well tomorrow. Definitely plan to make the upcoming second season for this show appointment viewing.

It's very nice to see folks of color on this somewhat oddball show.

Especially after it picks up steam.

Highly recommended.

It was announced shortly after the second season ended. I believe the first two seasons are going to hit Netflix soon, so perhaps there is some sliver of hope Netflix will buy out the show for the third season.

leveled at Max Landis, who was pretty much the brain trust behind the television formation for the show. Now I wonder if the show's cancellation was due to BBC America wanting to get ahead of the sexual allegations surrounding this dude. Hurts to say, but it's pretty wild to have enjoyed to work of someone that appears to be such a total creep, if the allegations are true.
