has it gotten better?

The series seemed to get worse with each season and within every season, the episodes seemed to get progressively worse.

The seasons would start off with promise, then go down hill.

I feel like the promos/commercials are a million times better than the show. Whomever makes those promos should just make the series.

i appreciate the change in style to make it like a documentary. i like the "story" (Roanoke Lost Colony). Definitely like Cuba Gooding Jr. Also I appreciate how they aren't showing any previews...I think leaving ppl in suspense about this season was one of their best plans. I love how as soon as it got good, they would go to commerical.

of course, this is a typical haunted house with a twist. loved how they incorporated the blair witch tree sticks into the house scene.

already like it better than season 4 and 5.

I liked the style choice, of the real events take.

The issue is that they almost certainly can't sustain this level of steam. i'll give it a few episodes to find out though.

Season 2 which was Asylum is decent.

Season 3 which was Coven told the best story from episode to episode and left no loose strings plus the cinematography was top notch that season. It's the lightest and campiest, but worth a watch just cause my nigga Alfonso Gomez Rejon put his foot into it with the episodes he directed.

Season 4 was Freak Show is trash. The first two episodes were good and the episode dealing with Pepper was one of the best of the show but man was this season trash.

Season 5 was Hotel and while it was much better than last season it was still garbage.

And now here we are at Season 6 which is Ranoke and it's gonna be a pass for me.

but most will say season 1 was the best (Murder House. haunted house story. typical but a great start)

season 2 I really enjoyed. Asylum, crazy house story with a ex Nazi Doctor, Anne Frank, aliens, monsters, ex hoe turned nun. It was a lot going on in that season BUT it was very amusing and all of the side stories were interesting to me.

season 3 was probably my fav., only because i love witches and NOLA. Voodoo and slavery. Like bwood said, it was shot beautifully, best cinematography. There is a scene where "oh freedom" is playing and it was just amazingly shot. it is campy

season 4 is the worst season. the freak show...this had potential but it got boring quickly. the side stories were wack, no one cared. (actually i did like the conjoined twins story) Jessica Lange was the only saving grace but she can't keep carrying a series. This is also her last season. i watched this whole season and i'm shocked.

season 5 had major potential but was the second worst season. and it's actually hard for me to decide what I dislike more, this or season 4. Season 5 was the hotel. now common sense would be to go with a Cecil hotel type story because that hotel is infamous but oh no, they had ghosts, vampires, witches, killers, demons just everything in the world thrown into the story. My main issue with this season was the amount of sex included. I'm no prude but they used sex as a filler not as a plot device, so it was just thrown in everywhere. pretty much horror porn but not in a good way. felt like i was watching a rob zombie show on lsd. didn't even finish watching this season.

season 6 is roanoke. already i like it better than the last two. this is another haunted house story (from what we see so far). i like that they kept this season under wraps. lots of ppl were thinking vampires or children of the corn. still could be possible but really it's looking like the spirits of natives who were murdered getting revenge. i already said if this season sucks it will be my last.

1 is wacky
2 almost approaches good tv
3 is a mix of both and probably should've been it's own separate multiseason show.
