Looks like an interesting take on the zombie genre. Great cast. Doesn't have a US release date but comes out in the UK on 9/23.

the "thing" is, it added nothing new to the genre.

Horribad writing, a terrible performance by Glenn Close (who's face is the most disturbing aspect of the film) and a critical scene of the film that comes across as high school drama class exercise.

There's a reason this got no release and no buzz.

They humanized her in a way that really takes the stakes out of the story.

Plus the Roof scene with Ms. Justineau adds SOOOOO much for them to cut it oversimplifies the character.

The one thing that ultimately changes the way I viewed this was because I recognized that the entire film is filmed through the eyes of a child. Its an oversimplified field of engagement. The science is really heavy and quite interesting to nerds like me, but really you lose a ton by not making the characters better.

Watching Keiran get his asshole eaten for NO good reason and saying "i'm good i've already had my dinner" had me crying good lord that was funny.

I still love Gemma so it'll always get a pass, but its not great.
