"Transformers: The Last Knight (Bay, 2017)"

The fifth installment of the franchise we all hate is back. I hope I get paid really good money for this next year. God help me.

Between the near pornographic shots in this shit, the jokes, and the pedophilia of the last one, this franchise is mos def not for kids.

Not much has been revealed since Paramount bowed Transformers: Age of Extinction in 2014 and then gathered a cream-of-the-crop group led by Michael Bay and Akiva Goldsman to craft a new Transformers Universe of sequels and spinoffs for the lucrative franchise. A new piece came today though when the newest film, now titled Transformers: The Last Knight, took to social media to reveal an old face returning: Josh Duhamel, who appeared as Lt. Col. Lennox in the first three pics but skipped Age of Extinction, is coming back:

In February, Paramount said that Transformers 5 will open on June 23, 2017, while Transformers 6 has been dated for June 8, 2018, followed by Transformers 7 on June 28, 2019. The current plan is for T6 to be a Bumblebee stand-alone movie. In a Rolling Stone interview recently, Bay said that he was helming Transformers 5, but that it would be his last.

Across four titles, the Transformers franchise based on the Hasbro toy line has generated $3.77 billion at the global box office.

Why? His character is not interesting. At least Marky Mark is a bit more interesting. A little...

Bay and Mark Wahlberg, who also is returning to the franchise, tweeted their approval of Duhamel:

My girl and I saw Song to Song yesterday and they played this trailer and we laughed.

You can't have girl power and then have Marky Mark call her little J.Lo. Also, this seems like a cheap ploy since everyone is on the female empowerment wave.

Also, this nigga Bay had Megan Fox audition for the first Transformers by having her wash his car while he filmed it.

In response to Reply # 0

nothing gonna stop this money printer.

http://screenrant.com/transformers-14-sequels-michael-bay-return/

Transformers director Michael Bay reveals Paramount has 14 sequel ideas, one of which he may return to helm. After a successful launch of the Transformers brand on the big screen, the movies that have come since have been polarizing to say the least. Even though the critical reception has dropped, the box office results have continued to climb and saw the last two films each top $1 billion worldwide. Now the studio is only a few months away from the release of Transformers: The Last Knight, which is set to be a new entry point for viewers as it also expands the mythology to bring Nazis and King Arthur into the history of the Transformers.

This is merely the beginning for what Paramount has planned and has assembled a writers room for this universe in order to build out the stories for Bumblebee, but also Transformers 6 and 7. These were not expected to be the end of the franchise assuming the box office results hold steady, but it turns out Paramount has many more ideas in the works, and one that Michael Bay is personally interested in directing.

MTV spoke to Michael Bay at CinemaCon and asked about the future of the franchise beyond his fifth directorial effort. Even though he previously said (again) this will be his last film in the franchise, he says one of the several ideas they have developed has piqued his interest.

There are 14 stories written and there’s good stuff. I would like to do one of them though… A Transformers spinoff.

Transformers Transformers: Paramount Has 14 Sequel Ideas; Michael Bay Would Return
Since Bay has said two times before that the Transformers film he was currently working on would be his last, it is no surprise that he may once again go back on his word. Some of this interest to stay aboard may be due to him currently being in the middle of The Last Knight‘s post-production process he admitted, the possibility for him to move on to a smaller film like a spinoff could be enticing for all parties involved.

However, the reveal that Paramount already has 14 ideas floating around for the future of this universe is surprising. This clearly shows that they have no intention to stop making Transformers movies anytime soon, especially as they are set to usher in spinoffs next year with Bumblebee getting his own film directed by Travis Knight. These future 14 movies theoretically would allow the franchise to expand further, bringing in more characters and maybe even exploring places beyond Earth. If Paramount embraces the literal universe at their disposal, maybe Transformers can regain favor with audiences once again.

that last paragraph tho, is on the money.
it's what i've been saying since the beginning: consult with the legion of TF nerds out there, from all eras (i was born in 84 so my fandom didn't really kick in til the most excellent "Beast Wars" in the 90s), and build a story actually starring the damn robots. the mythology is huge, the well of stories to draw on immense. instead we get useless human add-ons to supposedly anchor the films, or use henpecked teens as an excuse to make masturbation jokes and get mothers high on hash cookies (i feel like i'm making that shit up but both those things happened, right? lol christ).
i mentioned "Beast Wars" cos that's exactly what the story editors/showrunners did going in blind into the TFs universe: consulted newsgroups (early/mid 90s), find the most knowledgeable cats and use them as story consultants for mapping out hugely intricate storylines that connect the entire TFs universe. i really don't think TFs in general was regarded at all when it came to storytelling, directing, decent writing and characterisation til BW came along. they turned that shit into a proper sci fi epic (the 80s series and movie in comparison reaaally don't hold up that well).

if they did this shit right, the damn things could've at LEAST found favour with the sci fi crowd, cos that's essentially what their story is: dope sci fi. and could've even possibly been critically successful too. but now nazis and king arthur...? cmon lol. take us to fucking Cybertron already.

This is easily the worst movie in this series and one of the worst movies I've seen in ages. I wanted to throw something at the screen so many times in this farce of a movie but it was a really nice theater and I'd like to be admitted back. It fails on so many levels too. Editing is piss poor (why the hell is this almost 2 1/2 hours), characters are barely caricatures, Prime 'might' be in it for 4 minutes of on screen time, the robots designs look as bad as ever, the animation looks like it never finished post production, and there's a 'Martha' moment to boot. I went into this movie expecting nothing and got less than that. I'd rather watch Catwoman, Phantom Menace, Dr. Manhattan's blue balls in IMAX, hell, Star Trek 5, before I see this again. Everybody associated with this should be fired, tarred, feathered and run out of Hollywood.

Save yourselves. Don't make the same mistake as I did

Hell, that movie may have made more sense than T5.

It's bad. I mean, it's really bad. But it's still going to make a billion by the end of its run.
