After seeing this, I'm kinda ambivalent to The Lego Movie Sequel and I really don't know what the Lego Ninjago Movie is gonna be (this not a good thing)?
But kids are gonna love and half of the jokes do land. Robin is obviously gay and its a delicate line they walk in his portrayal. To be honest, he's the best character in the film.
I imagine a lot of people will like it better than me. It's not a bad movie at all and it's much better than the current DCEU movies so there's that. But yea I have a feeling the Lego franchise has lost it's luster for me.

Yeah, some of the sheen is off of the Lego gimmick-- I was blown away when I saw the first one, but here it feels a little old hat visually, to some extent-- but the jokes have a surprisingly high hit ratio, and the action is a lot of fun.

Felt a little too long and the final battle even felt like it dragged. But the cast is goddamn outstanding and the jokes stayed flying at a lightning pace. I thought the "friendship is the real treasure" was surprisingly done well, but again didn't land with as much oomph as The Lego Movie's emotional hook. Might not be essential viewing, but definitely worth checking out when it hits streaming/cable/what have you.
Goes without saying it's still going to be better than Snyder's Justice League.

it started off really strong and really funny. The jokes fell off but I enjoyed the story. The final battle did drag a bit. But overall it was good. It wasnt Lego Movie good but it was solid. As a fan of 80's movies...specifically bad 80's movies I really enjoyed the Gymkata reference. Also the pronunciation of Jarritos had me in tears as did the mi hijo line. So far I've got Will Arnett behind Michael Keaton as the best batman.

the dick joke pushes it a hair past all-ages, but hey, the guy's name is Dick. Whaddayagonnado. My 12 year old loved that line and actually repeated it at the dinner table. Which was ill advised.
But the highlight for me and I think the 12 year old at least was the broadness of the DCU it represented. The inclusion of non-DC properties was a little confusing at first, but still lots of villains and other references we haven't seen since Batman: The Brave & The Bold got pulled years back. Unfortunately most were just visual references, but still, my six year old IDd Calendar Man and all the kids recognized Condiment King. Which might say something about my parenting. But it was fun.
