Anyone check it out yet? I have it on deck to start tonight once my 2 year old quits playing around and goes to sleep. I like Will Arnett a lot and will give anything with him in it a chance.

might watch the second but, not sure i'm going to stick around. seems pretty
sad, 40-something washed up dudes hanging out in venice all day like they're
teenagers.

But that's what happens in Venice, it's full of those types. Business owners and former execs that made their nut and have nothing to do all day.

It paints a decent picture of Venice now and the hatred that a lot have for the ultra gentrification that has happened there.

I'm actually enjoy less over the top Will Arnett.

Yea, I mean my girls mom lives a block up from Abbot Kinney so I'm down there a lot. I miss the gritty Venice I used to visit in my 20's. I'm with oh going to SM Promenade rather than Abbot or Venice, too may douche bag transplants for my taste.

But then again I'm one of those angry anti-gentrification types.

It's not too bad, but between this and Baskets I might just fall off a bridge admiring the view. This will be some more depressing stuff.

If you think white ennui is super fascinating, you will ADORE this!
(Yes, I only watched the first episode.)
Hey, that white guy's on a bike!
AND he goes to meetings?
AND he's a douchebag to his friends?
AND he's above it all?
NO WAY! We must make this show!!
Oh wait - does the camera take it's time examining his forlorn look? If those shots aren't at least 10 seconds a pop, no deal...

I have a 400 year old chip on my shoulder.

interesting in the sense that there's a back drop of trying to save venice from gentrification. and also that it's really the first round of gentrifiers trying to save it from the richer tech gentrifiers coming in. i grew there before the first round, and that's not really represented in this show.

some of the twists on the show don't make much sense. some of it was ok. it was enjoyable enough and i don't regret watching since it was only 7 eposides. i dunno if i'd keep going tho
