i saw it after it came out and felt really queasy watching it. years later:
>now i seen enter the void and i enjoyed it
same, i liked it enough, music and location certainly helped, and there were a lot of parts that were repulsive to me, but i think by this point in my life and movie watching experience i could appreciate this type of movie better. it vaguely makes me want to rewatch irreversible, but...
>but this shit? > >iont know bruh
life is short, iono, no rush really. i'd probably appreciate it better than i did at the time, but there are so many movies i would sooner rewatch before i put myself through that again.
i gotta say, i'm also not too keen on seeing his next project, love, but i salute him for doing more with 3d than cookie cutter hollywood is. i respect him as a boundary pusher, but that doesn't make me want to see everything he does.
my thinking today is that he was probably trying to make a point about that experience since it's one of those that get referenced, often too lightly, and people understand it as a concept, but the reality is so ugly and harsh, and that brutality was what he was presenting for all to understand. i guess. like i said, i have no plans to watch it again any time soon.
