I was loving Jessica this week. Laying the smack down to both these clowns. I'm interested to see where they go with the ladies vs gents battle brewing between Mike and Rachel. It will be interesting to see if Mike's pro bono case pits him against Jessica and the firm.

Lou was right though when he told Donna she knows who she came to work for....louis will mess this up himself, Donna will leave amicably, and somehow end up back at Harvey's desk between the end of this season and maybe the next....i like that his secretary is very smart and adept too though... i'm glad he didn't pick a replacement Donna...

the dude going at Harvey seems like it's gonna be a wasted storyline, but we get to see Louis take more Ls. hopefully we get more Wendell Pierce this season too, dude just belongs on this show

...the thought that some guy with "ambition" can basically gun for a named partner in your firm, that literally brings in the biggest clients...closes deals without ever going to court, and everyone knows about it, seems really silly to me....Harvey vs louis is old, them treating lois like crap is old, them playing around with the fact that Mike is STILL a fraud and has made no attempts to legitimize himself at least a lil bit, IS OLD....but....i'm here for the dialogue and the fine women...

That senior partner has just as much to lose if he "exposes" Louis. That was a pretty big plot hole. I'm actually more into Mike's side story with Wendell Pierce. I wonder if he finds out about Mike's "secret".

although he may not have. When Harvey mentioned the By Laws the heel (i forget his name) didn't mention anything about a loop hole. He basically said "I don't care". So maybe Luis didn't help him.
Either way I'm tired of Luis catching L's...they need to move on from that. He can be just as effective when he's part of the team and not being crazy. They could do a lot with him and his cases...they barely ever show him actually working.

where they cut Donna into the conversation was brilliant. watched it like 3 times, and the playful banter between Jessica and Rachel at the end was nice. has anybody been nominated for acting in this show yet?
I like that they are giving Rachel more lawyering to do. I'm guessing next year she'll get to go full tilt on the lawyering. It was also nice to see Luis' old associate. She's fine as hell. I love how the writers are clearly fans of The Wire.

I'm so sick of that Jack dude and my fear has been confirmed, they bringing Hardman back. I *HATE* that character!! it's a good thing that everybody else's storylines are interesting. Louis is a better character when he's apart of the team. but back to Gretchen, how bad ass is she. she cracked me up when she told Harvey she was gonna kick his ass, and how she read Donna ass right off the back
cause when they brought in Tanner and Robert Zane, hell even Louis & Harvey's old boss, they were top shelf a*holes but the actors play them in a way that's endearing. that Jack dude looks like he took two 'how to play villain classes' then booked this role. Hardman is just a flat character period

pretended it no longer mattered and allowed us to move on. They rode that shit for so many seasons it was nice to get a break from it but here it comes rearing it's ugly head again.

I'm keen for (and expecting) that they get to a point where they say he's going to go public because they think they can find a way to defend it in court. Maybe it's way too ridiculous, but the more people that know about it, the more it feels like the only possible outcome without it becoming just plain dumb that everyone knows but it's still not public.

is that it really wasn't about breaking the law before. it was about him not having gone to Harvard and that being a huge deal with the firm. For a while he didn't even try his own cases, he just did research. They could have easily legalized him before he started trying his own cases but they wanted to keep up the lie that he went to Harvard which has no legal ramifications whatsoever...it just kept his secret away from the firm. The whole thing is kinda silly.

But really, it's all ego. He can't work in NY because then people would know Harvey hired a non-Harvard grad. (Or, after he was promoted, that a non-grad was practicing law.)
It's flimsy and it's always been the Smoke Monster of the show; the piece I wish they'd pretend never happened but turns out to be the crux of the show. It's one reason I didn't love this moodier season. Once Mike got his own cases, it became an unquestionably silly show. When I'm supposed to care about the deep dark secrets of these characters who consistently make stupid decisions and luck out of them, it's a little too much.
I did think Jack Soloff was a pretty great character though. Somehow I've missed most everything that actor has been in or didn't notice him before.
