just watched it today there's a few moments where the leads got on my nerves a little, but the storyline was cool, and all of the characters were hilarious

Delaney made his character feel relatable. Dude wasn't trying to be a superhero, he just wanted to do the right thing in a really strange situation. And I'm glad we got to see a woman express a desire to have a kid while not hiding the fact that she's kind of terrified by the whole thing. It really hit home in the wedding episode.
I know the fact that it was only six episodes is probably why it felt so tight and like there wasn't a lot of filler, but I could use some more episodes of this.

- Both Characters are fantastic and the amount of love and care they have for eachother through just the beginning of their relationship is really great. Plus the little moments of reality that float through, excellent.
- Chris is my favorite character though. Every scene that kat is in, makes me feel good. He's just a scene stealer.
- This shit better get a 2nd season.
- my wife even commented "how does her hair always look so fucking good" I on't even know about all that, but the show is funny.

Seriously great writing. The Chemistry is great. It's an interesting pairing of Irish Pessimism and American Optimism.
Rob Delaney isn't the strongest actor (angry or sad his delivery is always the same which made for a confusing fight at the end of the first season, couldn't tell if he was serious or not), but the Sharon Horgan is amazing (I think I am somehow drawn to cynical women).
Supporting cast was amazing.
Can't wait to start this second season.
Better than Apatow's Love.

Sharon Hogan's character is SO needy that it made it hard for me to get through the second episode. But it picks up from there.
Delaney's character is even more MAD or sad in season 2 which I can see would be offputting and definitely bugged me in a few scenes but still very good. Can't wait for season 3!

Especially when you realize this was a dude who had everything in life. Big money job, traveled and did it all. Now he's forced out of that happiness and has to make it work. I think he's more than those things, he's sort of lost a lot of time. Not knowing if what he's doing is right, but doing it because he thought it was the right thing to do.
Or maybe I just like the show and i'm defending dude.
They made mention of post-partum but I really struggled with the second episode and her seeking out the woman who left the group. That doesn't mean it's bad necessarily; just a tough storyline.
15. "i don't really think they knew what story they were telling s2" In response to Reply # 11
(and actually tbh it went off the rails with the ending of s1)
i especially don't get what they were doing with the friends/family plot lines...and i don't get why they both decided to fuck up their way through the worst version of his career possible.
i hope if they make season 3 it offers up something better than a joyless, tv-ma version of the dunphys.
16. "Yeah, they could have used a few more episodes" In response to Reply # 15
I think they could have done more with the family and the druggie friend to make those moments matter more. The sexual harassment story could have been expanded so it wasn't just Rob flying off the handle.
Either that or ditch some of the side stories, but I feel like most of them had promise.
