First off, it finally dawned on me that the same guy playing the agent (Troy Garrity) was the same dude from the Barbershop movies. Granted, those were a while back, and actors aren't usually the personas they play, but the juxtaposition was interesting
Now, as far as the show goes, I only really cared about what happened with Spencer, and that's due more to the fact that it's The Rock and we like The Rock so we'll follow him wherever he goes. And I admit to a personal investment in the "The Rock 'gaslighted' ol' girl even though it turns out he really didn't" storyline, in part because there was an arc there with real stakes for people which led to that moment in the bar, which to me was probably the best scene of the season.
Everybody else turned out to be annoying as fuck, except for the aforementioned agent. No real character depth for anyone save Spencer and the agent, and that's a problem.
And yeah, I know, "but it's kinda like Entourage but in Miami!" but even that's kinda nebulous, because you remember the sense of fun that the guys on Entourage seemed to be having on a per-episode basis? I didn't really feel any of that here.
The writing and the characters need to be sharper and a little bit deeper in season 2, period point blank.
Also, the less The Rock ass on TV, the better YEAH I SAID IT.
