"Wayward Pines (2015)"

Ok, who watched? What did y'all think?

My first thought WTF is Carla Gugino so MUTHAFUKKIN FINE!

Cotdamn, that girl been fine for like what 3 decades now.

WTF?

The plot is moving ok - they didn't drag out ALL the mystery too long. I'm digging it so far. I'm in.

What say the tribe?

Plot is a deadringer for this obscure video game on the 360 called Deadly Premonition, which hails Twin Peaks as a major inspiration.

I'm definitely encouraged by the positive sentiment floating around out there

Either way though, I'm just happy I'm not the only here that's experienced DP's craziness.

I'm aware that Lost ended poorly, but at least the structure of this show is set in stone and isn't based on the whims of ratings or suits.

Matt Dillon looks like fucking death, though. He did not age well.

I just started reading the books (a trilogy) and thought this might play out like how they are doing the Strain trilogy but now it seems like all three books will just be in this "event series", which is fine. they are going fast. I see they changed some things around...but yeah, I never watched Lost so my view of the show isn't muddled with something else.

the pacing is great, but if the "twist" is shitty there's gonna be a lot of things that don't make sense.

If I'm Matt Dillon I'd just go back to Wayward Pines and chill with the gorgeous Shannyn Sossamon, maybe pick up a hobby or something.

My only issue was the weak reasoning for keeping the parents in the dark, but I'm curious to see where they go from here.

Good show so far, though it would be better on a premium network with a different director.

And yes, Juliette Lewis is also terrible. They both also have weird ass faces that look like something didn't quite go as planned in the DNA script and it amplifies their b-movie acting chops into endless unintentional comedy.

They're not good.

I'm not a Juliette Lewis fan either I dont question her skills

It's easier to wrap her head around the idea of disliking him for some personal reason than the idea that some people think he's not all that good at acting.

And you?
Welp
That's self explanatory
You aren't taken seriously on your opinion ever

But please do go on and continue to watch a show where the lead "sucks at acting"

Primarily because, yes, the lead socks at acting.

As far as your little personal jab, plenty of people respect my opinions. Some of those people are well respected on OKP. As it turns out, I tend to respect those who respect me and those who don't respect me are those I have zero respect for and you're definitely on that list.

Cheers

Further, I' m a fan of the book series, which is the sole reason I gave half a chance to a show starring Matt Dillon with Shyamalans name attached in 2015.

You can now resume being pissy and smug because someone dislikes something you like while pretending you're a perfectly jovial human being.

You don't even have an argument. No real commentary, just empty nonsense in hopes that you'll wind up with the last word.

It's hilarious and sad that you're also willing to derail a post about a show YOU LIKE in hopes of landing your coveted last word.

You have no real argument. No point of discussion. No opinion to offer on the subject at hand. You're just determined to see 50 entries of your name repeating the same empty ass line that I'm still here because. ...because....uh... yeah. You want to argue to argue, as always. great job! Go ahead and derail this post with your stubborn stupidity. I'm happy to help.

That said, it's an interesting twist that makes narrative sense. I'm in.

All that other shit coulda been "Truman Show government conspiracy" but it didn't explain why Kate's last memory with Ethan was years ago, while he remembered it as weeks ago.

I hope they establish better reasons why the rules have to be so harsh in the town though... especially when it comes to the "reckonings".

The whole "adults heads would explode if they knew the TRUTH" thing kinda doesn't do it for me

Although when Megan gave them the coins, my Spidey sense started tingling. They definitely have some splainin' to do. Like, how was Terrence Howard able to jump from Wayward Pines to outside Wayward Pines when he sabotaged Theresa's car? As stated above, how do they explain everyone's skewed perception of time?

The scenes outside of Wayward Pines are "flashbacks". There is no time travel involved. The way they edited the episodes, they made it look like the scenes outside of Wayward Pines and inside of Wayward pines were concurrent. That's not the case.

Kate was taken. Five weeks later Ethan was taken while looking for Kate. Then a few days later Theresa and Ben were taken while looking for Ethan. Each of those folks were then put in hibernation and thawed according to the order they were taken. I think they thaw people out as they need them to maintain the society. Kate's partner was killed, so they brought in Ethan to replace him. Beverly was killed and Ethan was crying about going home, so they thawed his wife and son to replace Beverly and keep him happy.

I feeling this show and I'm actually hyped to see the next episode to see where it goes.

This has been a pleasant surprise for me. The suspense has been good so far and with so many different threads, I'm interested in where it would go next. But the twist at the end of Episode 5 could either work well, or be a colossal fail.

I get that scenes from "present" day are while the abductions are taking place, but some things still don't make sense.

How would the Dr have known to have an A group and a B group? Why have these public executions? If someone's acting out, why not test them to see if they can handle the truth?

Still intrigued, but there's a lotta questions that need to be answered.

Assuming their being honest, they tried telling ppl and it just doesn't work. I imagine they wouldn't want to gamble more ppl's lives on trying to fine tune it.

This was really good and I want another season... maybe...

This is what good TV does..I went and got all the books and read them...

This dude Blake Crouch is really dope... I want more of this series...

You take the blue pill, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
