I don't know if the choice to do a slow build/burn on Shonda Rhimes Night is the right move. You're following the epic Scandal in the lineup and replacing "...Murder" in the timeslot, which both get shit poppin' super quick.
All that said, it seems like a lot of "Things aren't what they seem" with everyone being connected, somehow. The cholo and the Hispanic dad's son can't act worth shit. It feels like they thought his "Why they gotta shoot me?!" line was gonna be some impactful shit, but his inflection just made it come out weird.

AC deals w/ race, injustice and everything in between in a strikingly realistic manner. There's not much sugarcoating going on w/ this series. That may explain why ABC doesn't promote it as well as they could and why the ratings are not stellar. It's too real for the masses. It really belongs on cable where there are almost no boundaries to tell this story.
Overall, I am very impressed w/ this show and hope that it gets the second season it deserves.

He's on some true sucker shit for agreeing to any of her plans. From Modesto, they probably didn't even get as far as Sacramento before her withdrawal temper tantrum. If he's truly not guilty of the first crime he got locked up for, this is just gonna make him look way worse in the public's eye.

I'm wondering how slash-face cholo is gonna figure back into the main story. I don't think his snitch story is totally true. I think he's just making shit up to get out of the game and out of jail.

it seems as if Aubrey was lying. Pretty unfortunate what actually happened at the scene will be up in the air, but then again I suppose the show is about what happened as result of the murder, not the actual facts of what went down.

He did confess to his sister that he did it. When I first saw it I was on some "nah, he just saying that" but he was too conflicted when he got out to be innocent to me now. I think Carter did it, then his sis got him free based on Aubrey confessing to something she didn't do. But she knew the details because she was there with Carter.
Only evidence I have to that is that if that is the case, then "justice" sort of played out with all the characters on the show.

was very very fugazi to me. Other than that, the finale was well done. It's unfortunate this show is paired up with Scandal because without having watched Scandal for the last three or so years, I'm pretty certain both shows are polar opposites. I hope this gets renewed for a second season. How bad are the ratings for the show? Also, this is an anthology type of show, right? I can't imagine any more material coming from following the current cast.
