i'll be watching this for sure. whether or not it's in the theatre or a bootleg at home will be determined closer to the date.

since the series is based on his life that part of the trailer is quite meta.

This movie is what the show should've done when the show ended in 2011. This was never a good show. For the 2nd and the first part of Season 3 up until they fire Ari, it was an entertaining show. It never reached that height again but came close with Season 5.

This movie feels like at 3 part series finale rolled into a feature film. This movie and its characters are for high school kids and kids in college. This show was for frat guys and the movie is for frat guys. This movie does what the show should have done back when it wrapped. Like the 24 series finale, it was a set up for a feature film and on the part of the former it was so problematic they had to resurrect it as a mini-series.

This movie is supposed to take place eight months after the show yet has so many references to celebrities, music, cars, gadgets of 2014/2015, I wonder why they didn't just have this take place today.

Being older now, the homophobic and misogynist jokes feel dated. Add to that the only storyline that feels even remotely "good" is Vince, Ari and crew dealing with the investors to finish Vince's film. Otherwise all of it is trite and stuff these guys went through over the course of 8 and a half seasons from 2004 to 2011.

The review or point of view is kind of pointless. Like i get it, Anyone can watch anything and have a point of view on it. But in this case you are a big movie buff, you review a lot of stuff and go in depth with the review....but your point of view as a critic of this movie is kind of pointless. Just saying.

Some of those people may have decided to see that movie that weekend.

Some of those people... may post here.

I am one of those people.

I see zero reason to remain mute when others who may have wondered if they should see the movie even if they didn't really watch the show may have clicked on this post looking for opinions. I am of the opinion that if you weren't a big fan of the show, you will get nothing out of this movie. That is the point.

The only reason I didn't go in depth regarding my full slate of opinions on the film is because I acknowledge that the movie seems to be exclusively fan service. I could have mentioned the film has zero interest in developing things like a story or stakes or a reason to care unless you hung on these guys' every word for seven seasons... but what's the point? Sometimes the proper response is "fans may dig it, those who aren't fans definitely won't." That's worth sharing.

Your reason is moot at this point. If someone was reviewing a book where it was in a series and only read the last book would you take the review serious? I don't care if other readers did the same thing, I wouldn't listen to their critique on it either.

I am just a customer. I've written one review in the last maybe three years, because I've gotten out of that game almost entirely. I saw the film because it was a Tuesday night and I wanted to see a movie, so I bought a ticket and saw it on my own time, because I wanted to. That makes me a customer, yes?

It's a movie. Plenty of people who bought tickets and saw it opening weekend had seen either some, a bit, or none of Entourage. They are all entitled to opinions. Every last one of them. And I think the distinction between a movie based on a TV show that *is* attempting to stand alone vs. a movie based on a TV show that is exclusively for fans is a worthwhile distinction to share.

Your insistence that I shouldn't have posted my brief thoughts on a movie I independently saw is baffling.

felt like a short season condensed into 90 minutes... Drama had me rolling the entire time, they stuck to the formula, for anyone who enjoyed the show I'd think you'd enjoy the movie

1. i wanted more Turtle back story...i wanted a more in-depth look at how he got papered up. they just kind of mention it and then move on.

2. I wanted to see the build-up to and the premier of Hyde. that was always a big event on the TV show.

3. i thought it was funny that Ari's daughter wasn't even in the movie. it was like she never existed.

on another note, i thought it was hilarious that the only one getting laid was Eric.

was that when we finally saw a clip of Hyde, I thought it was the most hokey nonsensical shit ever, like Medellin was. I then expected the reception of Hyde to be similar on some hyper-panned type shit.

Nope. Apparently brilliant.

So instead of leading me to think we're all in on the joke it just shows lack of awareness. It's Entourage though, so whatevers. I now know who Sabina Gadecki is and I feel enriched because of that.

Edit: And in a moment of truth is stranger than fiction, turns out Kevin Connolly actually DID pull this chick:

I actually thought they left it mysterious enough that there was no way to tell if it was good or bad for us, the viewer.

that mystery actually had me thinking "well, if this movie is supposedly good i'd go see it since what its about may be a surprise."

but anyways, to your other point: i don't even typically like blondes but i'd make an exception for her. yes lawd.

saw it at the drive-ins a few weeks back. material meandered a bit but i was entertained as hell. Drama pretty much stole the movie. and FINALLY got where he wanted to be.
